Very well made heavy duty mat ~ Perfect for my Concept2 rower
This is a very heavyweight mat that does an admirable job of protecting my carpet. My Concept2 Model E rower fits perfectly on the mat, with several inches to spare on the front and back. There’s also ample room on each side.Being so thick, the mat would adequately protect all types of carpet, as well as hardwood floors. It’s not especially easy to move around, but since I keep it in one place it works just fine for me.Despite using my rower for an hour each day, the mat remains in position with just an occasional area where it tends to rise slightly from the vibration. This causes no problems at all, and is easily fixed by pulling the ends of the mat after each session. The rise is so insignificant that it’s not really necessary to do anything, but if you want the mat to be completely flat after each use, just do the above. The bottom line is that this is a superbly manufactured mat that will protect your flooring. It can be used with any type of exercise equipment and is extremely durable.

Very happy with this mat for my rower
I bought this mat to go with a Newport Challenge AR rower. The length is great and it’s reasonably thin, while being incredibly durable. It obviously comes rolled, so I walked back and forth on it to smooth it out and in not much time at all it was sitting pretty flat to the floor. I assembled my rower and placed it on there and it has worked out great in my living room. I don’t have a huge house, so having something that isn’t in the way with furniture around it is a real plus. My rower doesn’t slide around at all since it’s on this mat and it has been great for protecting my wood floors. For $39.99 you can’t go wrong on this product. I love it!

Sturdy – your floor will thank you!
I bought this mat to go with my Concept 2 (model D). My erg fits perfectly on it and, more importantly, neither the erg nor the mat move around during my workouts. I would note that I’m on the short side, so someone of larger stature might generate enough force to move their erg around on the mat (technically you’re not supposed to if you’re doing it right, but generally the guys at the boathouse would shift the erg at least a little bit over the course of a workout). Anyway, my floors are unblemished; I roll this up and store it every time I use it. It’s a little heavy to pick up and unroll every day, but that’s why it protects your floor so well.Update 12/2012: I have noticed that the mat does move on my floor a little bit when I’m doing my faster intervals (2:00 to 2:08 split, for your reference) – enough that if I’m doing a lot of faster intervals, I have to get up in between them and move the mat back. I’ve also noticed this happening more in the cold weather, so I think this also has to do with the amount of friction between the floor and the mat – currently it’s lower than it is during, say, the summer. I would still recommend this mat, though – nary a scratch on my floors!

EXACTLY what I have been searching for!
I am extremely sensitive to rubber and plastic chemical odors and vapors. I have gone through four other rubber mats for my elliptical machine. All four have ended up in the trash because of their horrible and unbearable rubber/chemical smell. The last two actually gave me migraine headaches after 24 hours. This is the first and only rubber mat I have come across that not only does its job, but also has NO chemical smell whatsoever. It is definitely thick and durable enough to withstand wear and tear from the elliptical. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and plan to buy an extra just to have on hand for the future!

Very good, quality mat.
There’s not a whole lot to say about this. It’s a rubber mat that serves its purpose well. It’s heavier than I expected it to be, which is a good thing–you don’t see cheap AND heavy mats. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it needs to be a little bit thicker. This is mainly just me being nit-picky, but I try not to hand out 5-star ratings unless they’re truly excellent in every single aspect. I’d give this 4.5 stars if I could, but alas, half-stars aren’t an option, yet, so I rounded down ;-).I check email several times a day, so if anyone has any questions, I’ll answer them ASAP.

Works Well On Carpet
The mat is the perfect size for the Sunny Phantom Hydro rowing machine. It works well to protect your flooring from sweat and wear. So far, the mat has been durable enough to withstand the weight of the machine with a user, and not split or crack at the machine’s contact points. This is impressive because the mat and machine sit on top of thick carpet. This mat has worked well for my needs.

Excellent product
I use it for rowing machine LifeCORE R100 (can also be used for Concept2). Very good quality product. In fact it is much better then I have expected. Also note that it is heavy (over 30 lbs). It stays in place during my rowing exercise. You can buy cheaper mats, but don’t expect the same quality as Supermat. Also note that Amazon has the cheapest price ($39.99 shipping included) compare to other websites who sell that product.1/7/14 updateIts’s been more then two years since I purchased the mat. I still don’t see any negatives and I still like the product. When I purchased the mat, there were no reviews posted yet. I took a chance in purchasing this item and it was a good choice. Price went up since I purchased Supermat two years ago, but it is still a good value considering a good quality of the product.

Perfect Supermat for the Concept 2 – 102″
This 102″ Supermat is a good quality mat that is the perfect size for the Concept 2. It is not overly thick but plenty sturdy and durable enough for home use. It lays flat right out of the box and I do not have any problems with the rower moving around. I use it on a berber carpet with no issues. For $60 shipped you cannot go wrong.

Bought this at the same time I purchased my Concept2 Model D Indoor Rowing Machine with PM5, Gray – I’ve concluded it’s an essential accessory. It’s a perfect fit for the length of the rower. It’s substantial in weight, but not prohibitively heavy, and protects my hardwood floors with no skidding around. My only gripe is, as mentioned by others, it is considerably thinner than 2.5cm; this does not alter its effectiveness for my purposes, but if thickness is important for you than you may want to explore other options.

Stops all the fibres from the carpet going into the treadmill. Easy to clean. Took a while to flatten out though.

Quite not easy finding a mat of this size elsewhere for my rowing machine. Now it makes sense why tread mill mats though cheaper should not be substituting this. No odor problem; easy to roll up when not in use. The mat was delivered rolled inward, so it was curling towards the floor – good common sense packaging. Gravity took care of it straightening up in a day. The soft bottom provides grip holding the floor, while the smoother but self patterned upper gave me good cushion feel. Prolonged use with rower on top did pass on a slight pinch to the carpet underneath, but it was only a reminder what the rower would do without the mat. The carpet had no permanent pinch marks from those prolonged use; it disappeared with a brush of my toes.

I think the people complaining about their concept 2 rowing machine moving on top of this product are rowing incorrectly. I have done intense interval rowing on this mat, and long distance rowing.. the rower never jumps back unless I’m moving incorrectly… So it’s a good reminder to check my form 🙂 I have had this mat for about a month now, and it does exactly what I need it to do (protects my hardwood flooring). The extra space is great for dumbbells and crossfit type workouts as well. This was pricey, but seems much better than anything I’ve seen at Canadian Tire or Walmart for a lower price.
