Vitamin A from beta-carotene
This was the only prenatal I took, and I found it to be easy on the stomach, but makes your pee bright yellow. That being said, I did not have excessive nausea during pregnancy. The pills are big, but I’ve seen much bigger, and I didn’t find them particularly hard to swallow and there is no after taste. While I was doing my research, I found a lot of controversy surrounding the content of vitamin A in this prenatal, as an excess of vitamin A can cause liver damage amongst other things. What I found is that vitamin A comes from two sources: beta-retinol (animal proteins) and beta-carotene (vegetable proteins). Vitamin A toxicity is typically found from excess of vit A taken from beta-retinol, as it is considerably more concentrated. This prenatal does not source beta-retinol, it sources the much more easily absorbed and gentler beta-carotene. This is also why this prenatal is considered “vegetarian”.I haven’t had any issues with the vitamin A content, and nor did my midwives/OB. Like many prenatals, this prenatal favors iron versus calcium, you will want to take an additional calcium supplement at another point in the day.

Excellent natural prenatal supplement
I have been taking this prenatal vitamin for years. When I first found out I was pregnant my docprescribed a prenatal vitamin and I found out quickly that I was allergic to different types of dyes thatare put into pills. It took some discovery but I found these at our local grocery store and started taking them.I was so happy to not have nay adverse reactions and still get in the prescribed dose of all the prenatalsupplements. The pills are a bit big and do have a bit of an after taste if you do not drink enough water when you take them.I take two before bed and drink a lot of water with them. One thing to know is that once you have taken them yoururine a few hours later is a very bright yellow. I expect it now but the first few times I was a little alarmed.Over the years I have had to search to find these when a store stops carrying them or simply closes. I am sohappy to find them here!

Great vitamins, but way too large.
My wife has been taking these vitamins for over a year and will probably keep taking them. The only downside is that they’re enormous and can be difficult to swallow.

DONT TAKE IF NOT PREGNANT/HIGH IRON
These seem like great prenatals,I have been trying to concieve for 4 years and have taken many different ones. These seemed great but what I did not realize was they have way to much iron for a non pregnant woman. Your daily amount of iron should be 18mg and 27mg if pregnant. Anything over 40mg is considered toxic. These pills have 36mg of iron per dose. I had blood work done and we thought I had Hemochromatosis!!! Iron levels were way to high and so therefore I have moved on to a non iron prenatal. Over all these seemed great aside from the iron dose.

I love these!
I’ve been taking these vitamins for 4 years solid now. I started taking them 9 months before I became pregnant with my first son. I kept taking them after he was born because they make me feel really good. If, for one day, I forget to take them I’m dragging and I feel super lethargic. After having 2 babies, who are super healthy, I have and continue to recommend these prenatal vitamins to my family and friends who are trying to get pregnant. By the way, they have no side effect.

Nearly 20 yrs This Vitamin is still tops
I have been taking this vitamin for nearly 20 yrs. It is STILL the best vitamin I have ever found. I am highly gluten intolerant and have hypothyroidism. I have to take vitamins to get the right amount of B Vitamins. I can tell a real big difference in how I feel and my energy levels when I run out of these. I tried the regular strength prenatal from Nature’s plus but it is just not as good. My grandson who is 7 takes the Nature’s Plus kids vitamins
