Swanson Apigenin Supplement for Sleep – 90 Caps, 50 mg Each – Sleep and Relaxation with Stress Relief – Natural Support (Packaging May Vary) 3 Pack

What is apigenin? You may not have heard about this once obscure bioflavonoid, but a quick internet search will reveal that apigenin is poised to become a well-recognized and popular nutrient. Researchers suggest that the flavonoid constituents in apigenin may promote stress relief at a cellular level and support better sleep quality. Studies indicate that apigenin may bind to benzodiazepine (BZ) receptors and moderate GABA-activated activity. GABA (gamma aminobutyric acid) is an inhibitory neurotransmitter popular for promoting sleep by calming an active mind. This naturally occurring flavone glycoside is found in many fruits and vegetables, but most notably in chamomile flowers which may account for the soothing effects of chamomile teas and supplements. If a little help quieting your mind would help you drift off to sleep, adding an apigenin supplement may help. Swanson Apigenin delivers 50 mg per serving in convenient capsules. Product benefits: Supports healthy, restorative sleep Promotes stress relief Delivers beneficial flavonoid constituents Packaging may vary: Our labels change periodically to reflect new scientific learnings but our quality and efficacy remain the same.

    Great for staying asleep
Keeps me asleep better than any prescription medication I’ve tried. Doesn’t make me drowsy either. Even if I wake up I fall back asleep in seconds.

    Sleepytime
I take these right before I go to sleep and once I crawl into I’m quickly drifting off. It helps me fall asleep fast and sleep well. I don’t feel any grogginess or drugged out in the morning. Supposedly it’s good for a prostate too.

    May Inhibit CD38 in Vivo
This extract is found in celery, chamomile and grapefruit. It is not very bioavailable and little has been done to test improvements on this. Black pepper extract may help, so might certain oils or fats. Apigenin is lipid soluble. According to some research, bioavailability of apigenin may be limited to 11mg per 100mg. This bottle contains capsules 50mg each, meaning two may get you 11mg at most.Apigenin is found in chamomile tea, so simply drinking more of this at night may accomplish the same goal, though it is currently unknown just how much apigenin is in any one glass of tea, much less how much of it is absorbed.Apigenin is actually gaining popularity because of the possibility that it may inhibit CD38, a major NAD+ consumer which increases with age, causing the noted depletion of NAD+. For more info on NAD+ just google it. Rise in CD38 may be due to any number of factors further upstream, such as inflammation. Take care that your diet is not inflammatory first. Depending on your age, diet and other factors you may notice different results with this product. That said, rather than taking NAD+ precursors, this may be a better, and relatively cheaper alternative. Until studies show us more, or until recent drugs targeting CD38 pass phase III trials, this is all we have.Swanson is currently the only vendor selling apigenin extract. Previous labels claimed it was standardized to 96%. The new label mentions nothing about this. Swanson, subject to UK regulation, is still hit or miss on Labdoor and analysis on this product has never been done. You may or may not be getting the real deal.

    Great natural calming aid!
Despite eating healthy and exercising regularly I was having trouble sleeping. My lifestyle factors where not the problem so I turned to supplements. I use this product in conjunction with L-theanine and Magnesium bi-glycinate and on occasion ashwaganda, this combination has greatly improved the quality of my sleep.

    Helps with sleep
I notice a difference when I don’t take my night time cocktail of this and Life extensions’s neuro Mag. It’s not a cure all, I am still having quality of sleep issues, but my sleep is better with it than without it.

One of the absolute best sleep supplements available.
Not a super well known supplement but this stuff works very well. It supposedly helps quiet down your frontal cortex allowing you to sleep without those frantic ongoing thoughts. I gave this to my girlfriend who didn’t really have the information to get a placebo effect from this and she loved it. If you are taking a break from certain legalized substances this stuff helps immensely when your mind is running wild.

    Apigenin Sleep Supplement, Works Okay
I originally purchased this based on Andrew Huberman’s recommendation that it has beneficial sleep qualities. I tried to also find medical studies to support his assertion, though I didn’t have much luck on that front. I figured I’d give it a go regardless, as if I found it to be beneficial, then it’s certainly worth spending a few bucks on.And the verdict is…. Meh. It certainly didn’t negatively impact me in anyway, however I didn’t notice any impactful benefits either. I’ll go ahead and finish the rest of the bottle, but likely won’t be reordering another. Cut out caffeine by 2 pm and turn off phones / devices an hour before bed, those have meaningful impacts.
