Reebok Fitness Multipurpose Adjustable Aerobic and Strength Training Workout Step Platform for HIIT, Cardio, and General Sessions

I have been using a knock-off, hand-me-down step for thirty years. Purchased by a previous roommate at probably Ann and Hope or Lechmere, that’s how old it is. The thing owes me nothing, and is in fact still fully useable. However, it is shorter and wider than the original Step that is featured in my old-time videos (that I’ve upgraded to DVDs, thank you very much). I broke those out into full rotation with Covid (won’t wear a mask to work out) and decided I could treat myself to equipment that would allow me to just do all the moves without having to modify all the way through.This is great. Extremely sturdy. A little harder to adjust height, but I’ve adjusted it to the height I use and doubt I’ll have cause to do it again. Previous knock-off had stackable plastic risers that I screwed onto the step since they didn’t stick on and were a pain for moving it into place and into storage location on the daily. So if you don’t adjust it, that’s no problem at all. And if you are a frequent exerciser, it’s probably not a challenge. But if you have limited hand strength it could be a concern.It does seem pricey for what is essentially a big piece of plastic. But I am very pleased. It is the same as the equipment used in classes in the gym.

Retro goodness that works
I had a Reebok Step in the 90s and forgot about it until recently when I decided to use my kitchen step ladder as a form of exercise. Besides being creaky (the ladder, not me) my shins kept hitting the step above. That’s when I remembered my Step and was happy to see it’s still in production! It’s simple, affordable (no gym memberships, expensive equipment with subscriptions), doesn’t take up much space, absorbs shock, has three heights and it gets my heart rate up which is my goal. I use it in conjunction with my smart watch to keep track of my heart rate and time spent on it.

Good Stability
Years ago I toppled off a step bench and suffered a severe ankle injury that required surgery. This was on the type of step bench where the risers stacked together but did not lock into place. So picking up step aerobics again after nearly 2 decades, I knew I wanted the type of step bench where the risers snap in and can’t wobble. I wanted to feel very stable. This step bench is stable. However, with being out of shape and 2 decades older than when I used to do step, I have the bench on the lowest setting. This step bench is taller than the other step benches. Which means that on the lowest setting, it’s more like other benches with 1 riser in place. So that adds to the workout. I have deducted 1 star for how grippy the top of the bench is. The grip makes some moves, such as spins and shuffles difficult to execute to the point of needing modification. This is currently not a huge problem as I am sticking to classes where the music isn’t super fast and the combinations are more basic, but could become a problem when I’m ready to increase speed and difficulty.

Sturdy and safe!
I bought this very sturdy, safe step platform for my husband after hip surgery for his PT. It has really been beneficial, and has served its purpose very well. It is very heavy, so does not move around easily (which is good). You can change the height which is also good for ongoing PT and an increase in knee raise heigth.I know we will both continue to use it, for ongoing exercise!

The Reebok step feels very sturdy and secure, and it’s easy to switch among the 3 different heights – it just clips in place. It’s not heavy, so easy to move in and out of my closet, where I store it.I’m very glad I purchased the Reebok step, even though it costs more than the alternatives.It arrived surprisingly quick for such a large-sized box.
