Safe, Easy on Stomach, a perfect match.
My wife is expecting and we were in search of a vegan DHA that not only meets her daily pregnancy requirements but also does not require her to take too many doses for the same. This one is exactly what we wanted. It’s just one capsule a day and meets her daily DHA, EPA and even DPA needs, which we didn’t find many other brands offering. Extracted from marine algal, these soft gels are free of carrageenan too, a starchy thickener, which pregnant women should be careful about. The capsules are easy to swallow, are non GMO, vegan, and does not trigger nausea or stomach irritation. She is finished with her 3rd bottle and is on her the 4th one. We highly recommend this.

Great if you are willing to pay just a bit extra to support an ethical company and “cleaner” product
Scientific studies for EPA and DHA show that they are probably beneficial for both cardiac and cognitive health, and they are an important nutrient for overall health, including prenatal health. And while you your body can convert some of the precursor forms of Omega 3 found in flax, chia, hemp, and other plant foods, it tends to do so very slowly and inefficiently. This is why I take a DHA/EPA supplement, but the reason I prefer an algae-based one is both for environmental and ethical reasons, but also because I don’t want to risk potential persistant organic pollutants found in most wild fish. Fish get their omega 3 directly from algae anyway, so in a way, this is just cutting out the middle man, as they say.I’m neither female nor pregnant, but there’s no reason why those who aren’t cannot take them. We all need these nutrients. These are actually the first algae oil supplement I’ve taken that had a fairly distinctive odor. It’s not unpleasant, but it is strong, even after refrigerating. The odor and taste is not fishy, perhaps a bit musky might be my best estimation? I don’t know if this is due to how the capsules are created or not, but it’s not something that was a negative for me, but it might be for some.As others have mentioned, the cost of these is a bit high compared to some products, but certainly not all. However, if you can afford it, that extra money does go to support an ethical company that is a “B-Corp” and uses sustainable and ethical practices. They are not a huge manufacturer that churns out massive amounts of product, but what looks to be a company that is really trying to do well for the world and their customers. This product is also certified gluten free and non-GMO if these are important to you. Finally, they do not use carrageenan, a seaweed used as a thickener, and which some types are inflammatory, so you don’t have to worry about that at all with these capsules. Thanks for reading, I hope you found this review helpful!

Rancid
The first bottle of this product I received was great. My second bottle arrived an upon opening it the “fishy” smell was overwhelming which usually means the oils are rancid.

No after taste
Love these! I am not vegan. I got them because the other pills have an awful after burping taste. These are perfect. They don’t taste like anything and I dont burp fish the rest of the day.

Hit or Miss- Bad Batch
I ordered these about a month ago and they were great.I recently reordered and received today. The package was fine but the pills were stuck together and looked like multiple pills burst inside the bottle…. But the bottle was sealed🧐You can see some of the liquid has dried yellow on the inside of the seal. It’s non refundable but I contacted Customer support for help with a refund.I think this time spends I just received a bad batch because the pills smelled “fishy” and rancid to the point of me being nauseous just from the smell. Not sure if I’ll reorder😫😔

Good veggie omega 3 pills, large amount of DHA per pill
You’ve probably heard of Omega 3 as in fish oil. It turns out you can get this from a cleaner source that’s vegan, namely, algae. These pills offer clean, vegan algal oil and all the health benefits that come with it (anti inflammatory, cardiac, and more). As other reviewers said, although Omega 3 is helpful for fetal development there is no need for you to be pregnant or even a woman to take these omega 3 pills. These Omega 3 capusles are the large “horse pill” long type of pills vs the smaller “football shape” size, so if you have problems taking pills keep this in mind. However, given that these are the larger pills, the amount of DHA in one pill is very good, higher than average even, but the EPA/DHA ratio is on the lower end. I appreciate they also show how much DPA is in this supplement as well as I hadn’t heard of that. One benefit of taking this supplement over a random brand on Amazon is that it may be pricier than the average veggie omega 3 supplement, but they’re a name brand supplement and there’s less concern of some fly by night supplement retailer putting out some random product. The supplement industry is notoriously poorly regulated in the US but I trust this company more than random no name supplements on Amazon. They claim they have 3rd party testing and certification. The pills are all vegan and although they do have safflower as a filler oil they have less random ingredients than I’ve seen in other veggie omega 3 pills, which I appreciate. I had no issues taking them for a month and can recommend these especially since they have a higher than average amount of DHA per pill.

celiac safe, gluten free, high quality
When I was pregnant my doctor told me to take New Chapter prenatal vitamins. I never really stopped them . . . although I take Nordic Naturals for my omegas when I saw this brand I had to try them. These come in sealed boxes. They are amber glass jars which should protect from light damage and there is a safety seal under the cap to prevent tampering. These are smaller than the Nordic Naturals gels but still larger than standard pills. Serving size is 1 capsule and I have taken it on an empty stomach with a glass of water and had no upset stomach. These are algae based which isn’t as high in omegas as fish based supplements but I prefer them to avoid fishy after-burps.Best of all, these are certified gluten free so are safe for my daughters who have celiac to take! The box I received expires 11/23.
