For at least ten years, probably longer, I have used Sambucus to help alleviate and reduce the duration of illnesses. When used in the initial hours or day of sickness, this product is especially effective.The actual product looks like a purple cough syrup. The container also resembles a cough syrup bottle. This product tastes no worse than cough syrup, probably a little better.The packaging recommends that for daily maintenance two teaspoons be taken. For intensive use, two teaspoons should be taken four times daily. If you are using this for daily maintenance and only taking 2 teaspoons a day, you will get 24 days out the 8 oz. bottle.I personally only use this when becoming ill and follow the instructions for intensive use. I have experienced great results using Sambucus and always have a bottle in my house. I’ve recommended it to many individuals and they, too, have had positive experiences.The pricing for this product, under Amazon’s subscribe and save option, is the lowest I have found. Even without the subscribe and save option, Amazon’s pricing on Sambucus frequently beats other sellers that I turn to for health related items, including iherb.com and swansonvitamins.com.Note for pregnant women: As is typical and expected, the manufacturer recommends that the potential pregnant user contact a health care provider prior to use. Kristina from the Nature’s Way customer service department noted in an email, “Sambucus is made from an extract of Black Elderberries that are considered a class 1 herb. Class 1 herbs are very safe and can be taken during pregnancy. Sambucus/Black Elderberries are considered safe to use while pregnant.”The ingredients on the box I received differ slightly from the ingredients presently listed on the product page. The ingredients on my box note that the product contains: sorbitol, purified water, vegetable-source glycerin, natural raspberry flavor and citric acid.This product is kosher and gluten-free.

It Works! Amazing!
Even after reading the good reviews on this product, I wasn’t convinced it would work but since it’s basically berry juice I figured it couldn’t hurt. Well, I was able to prove that it definitely shortens the length and lessens the severity of a cold. I started on my first bottle a few weeks ago but ran out shortly after Thanksgiving because I hadn’t set up the subscribe and save option and didn’t get another bottle ordered soon enough. I started on the second bottle a little over a week ago. Unfortunately on Thursday, 12/8, I knew I had a cold so I started taking 2 tsps. 4 times per day every day and by Sunday my cold symptoms were basically gone. That’s roughly a 3 or 4 day cold…which is unheard of for me as my colds usually last at least a week or more and make me miserable. I had a runny nose for a couple of days but never got to the “so stuffed up you can’t breathe” stage. I’m hoping that once I’ve been taking this regularly I won’t get any more colds, but if I do, I’ll know that taking the extra doses will keep them short and manageble.

Great for defending against germs
Anytime, I have an inkling that I’m going to get sick, I take a capful of this. Or if there is sickness or illnesses, floating around that people are getting. And then if I get sick, I also keep taking a capful for the day. It has helped any time I’ve been sick to cut the time. It helps with my immune system because mine has always been bad. The taste isn’t bad. even though it taste may not appeal to everybody, but it definitely doesn’t taste like no NyQuil. I take NyQuil if I have to sleep when I am so congested and also take my elderberry. Thank you
