What they are and are not
These are slip on in the sense that tightening or knotting the laces is not necessary — the laces are there for show — but you do have to pull up the backside. At least, I do. But once on, they hold on fine for walking and general use. But that brings me to….I usually buy size 11 in big name brands, which would also be showing 45 EU size on box and 10.5 UK size. After looking at the size charts, and stated foot lengths, I bought these in 12. As you can see in the picture of my blue shoes next to a pair of size 11 ASICS, they are the same length. The slip-on blue shoes seem slightly wider across the toes, but I like it like that. I recommend going a full size up from your usual, at least with the larger men’s sizes. YMMV.The blue is VERY bright. They’ll see you coming in these. Two technicians at my dentist’s office immediately looked up the women’s version for themselves. As I told them, I find the shoes extremely comfortable when I have to be on my feet all day. They are also comfortable when driving.I would not recommend these shoes for extended running, especially if you are outside on pavement. I don’t think it would be firm enough for the heel strikes. While the materials seem strong enough for my walking 5 miles a day, and, so far, they are holding up without signs of wear. However, they might wear out fast with the harder, rougher, use of a runner. The caveat is that I am saying this as an ex-runner whose knees got to the point that today I only run if something is chasing me.A final note is that unlike some of my other fabric shoes, they are not prone to picking up stains from my jeans or car carpet dye. After regular use for a few months they look as clean as when I bought them.

Worn shoes from day one
Overall, happy with the shoes. My husband wears a size USA 9. However, this brand, and a few others, do not carry a 9 size! So I went with a 9.5 size. It was a bit too long in the toe area. The width was ok, but had to tighten up the lacings on one foot. The opening to slide the foot into the shoe was a little tight, but it has loosened up over the week.The red color is mixed with black threads to give a subtle red color. Attractive. The weave is not stiff. It is breathable. The ties are for decoration, but will tighten the sides.The sole is a white material. Not quite like regular athletic shoes. Maybe a little bit plasticy looking, but not bad.The upper material is a bit flimsier than regular jogging shoes.Overall, he is happy with the comfort and ease of putting on. Win, win!He says they are comfortable to wear. He put them on right out of the package (plastic bag) and has worn all week since.

Size runs small
I have narrow but Long feet. Don’t follow the fit guide here. These shoes are made for medium width or wider feet. Take your favorite shoe size and order that size or larger. If you are in a half size round up. I had to return the shoes twice. First I went with their size guide and that shoe was to small. So I went with the next size up, 11, again to small. So I had to move up to the 12. It fits, but way too wide for my foot which is narrow. If you wear a medium width shoe or larger than these shoes may work for you. If you have narrow feet don’t bother unless you want a very loose slipper fit. I’m keeping the last pair I ordered for working in the yard even though they fit like loose slippers in the width. The shoe length is good though, finally. There is not much support in the arch. On the plus side, the shoe fits like a slipper and it is light. I will not be buying them again.

If you plan to use them for walking, make sure the distance is short. They are okay for putzing about.
