Fizzy and sleep inducing, but what’s really in it?
I have long suffered from insomnia, particularly with initially falling asleep in the evening. I have taken melatonin for many years and have tried dozens of different brands, strengths and delivery systems (liquid, chewables, tablets, capsules, etc). Last night I gave this unique product a try. I received two tubes in my order, each containing 15 effervescent tablets, totaling 30. Initially I had some difficulty removing the lid in order to access the product – the lid is exceptionally well secured – after several attempts I finally took a pair of sturdy kitchen scissors and used them to gnaw away at the fasteners until the lid finally broke free. I dropped one tablet into a glass containing roughly 8 ounces of chilled and filtered water: sure enough, the tablet began dramatically dissolving in a manner similar to Alka Seltzer (the old jingle “plop plop, fizz fizz” came immediately to mind). I enjoyed the tasty watermelon flavor and the bubbly effervescence added an interesting profile to this evening drink. I examined the QR code and label to obtain more information about what I was ingesting. Each tablet contains 5.2 calories which the label classifies as “energy” (that was initially confusing to me, but by “energy” they just mean “calories”). 1.3 carbs. 0 sugar but I notice that the drink is faintly sweet – lo and behold, the label discloses that these tablets contain “artificial sweetener” – does not tell us what kind or how much!! Also it states the product contains “natural” and “nature identical flavour” (but we have no idea what that means or what exactly it “is”). Sodium is exceptionally high for a product of this type, at 450 mgs – that’s 22.5% of your total RDA for sodium! There are different concentrations in these tablets for a variety of sleep inducing herbs (familiar names like chamomile and valerian root for example), 5mg of melatonin (pretty standard dosage amount) and 1.9mg of Vitamin B6. After 30 or 40 minutes I felt tired, and slept fairly well throughout the night with the exception of my usual 3am waking hour – and I was thirsty – well, I can only assume that ingesting 450mg of sodium at bedtime might have something to do with it! I am on the fence about recommending these tablets, due to my concerns stated in this review. More transparency in labeling would be helpful, and of course, all of that sodium is an issue for me.

Nice taste
I really have gotten used to melatonin before bed as I find I sleep so much better when using it. I got these for traveling and they work really well. I don’t like taking powder with me and these make it so I could keep up my routine even when I am away. I don’t mind the taste as it reminds me of summer which is nice now that it is getting cold. I found it to be just as useful as powders I have taken and this works well for my busy life. I will be buying more of these for sure

Effective and pleasant taste
These effervescent tablets deliver 5 mg of Melatonin per serving. Because I have a difficult time falling asleep, I am using a double dose. I am grateful not to have side effects such as vivid dreams. Every once in a while I do have a dream, however, I don’t think is related to the Melatonin.The tablets have a pleasant flavor. Imagine a lemonade with a touch of raspberry. I am fond of this effervescent version because it is also making me intake the drink/water before bedtime, which has additional health benefits.
