Perfect for Chickens with Wry Neck
You need to keep this on hand if you have a flock of backyard chickens because wry neck happens and the quicker you catch it, the quicker your bird gets better.I had a bird with wry neck and had never heard of it. I noticed this Happy little rooster of mine was off balance and not able to eat well, but he didn’t have the usual strange and obvious signs of wry neck. Only in holding him and checking him out several times was I able to isolate the problem to a very stiff neck, but by the time I had it figured out, he had been Ill for a few weeks and he was struggling.I brought him inside and did a deep search and found this supplement and started him on it. It took a good two weeks for him to show real positive signs of getting better. So please don’t give up if your chicken doesn’t bounce back in 48 hours. Holding his neck in that stiff manner became a habit and I believe his inner ear was affected. He has a weak side and was naturally wary of being with the flock, trying to hide and mask his symptoms. This is precisely why I watch my birds go in the coop each night and why I feed tiny bread scraps once a day. It’s the only way to truly notice when free range chickens are not doing well. It gives you a chance to look over each one as it moves and interacts with the other birds. Sick chickens tend to hide and mask so this is vitally important if you care about each of your birds. It if my belief he suffered a trauma that caused him stress, and that stress caused a severe drop in selenium and vitamin E, which is what cures wry neck. A month out and he is out and happy and growing with the gang. Luckily, he loves the taste of the goop and eats it right off the end of the syringe. I started with a fair amount as a loading dose along with selenium and vitamin E rich foods, and just kept at it. I kept him in a carrier during the day but outside so he could move and use the weak side, and see his gang without being subject to getting picked on.I ended up purchasing 3 tubes of this medicine and I always keep it on hand now, to give to stressed birds and in case of another wry neck case. Leaving it in the fridge works to keep it solid enough so they can eat it off your finger or the end of the syringe.I don’t have goats so I have no idea how well it works for goats, but this company would be wise to package and market this item for chickens with wry neck as well as its original use, because it really does the job. If your chicken has wry neck and it takes you a while to notice, chances are good that her is under-feed and also thirsty and you may have to help him initially. I also added nutridrench to his water, but I spread this product on small pieces of bread initially to get it down him when swallowing was difficult.I think wry neck is a very uncomfortable condition for anyone. Humans can get it, too, but it I’d not contagious from bird to bird or bird to humans, so no worries. You can’t catch it, but chickens have dirty feet and you should wash your hands carefully after handling your chickens. My bird presented with an off center tail, an S type of bend in his neck and leaning heavily to one side with a seemingly weak leg. I focused on his feet initially but that was just a symptom. It took careful handling and really feeling a healthy rooster to find out where the problem was. Owning chickens is fun and interesting. But, you get some strange issues that pop up and the more chickens you have, the higher the chances of problems arising. So do yourself a favor and keep this on hand as a first line of defense. I’ll never be without it again. It’s incredibly gratifying to diagnose and treat a sick bird and have it respond to your tender care. I don’t think he would have gotten better the way he did with just a dietary change and vitamin supplements. I believe this product kept my bird alive, and I’m grateful because he’s a sweet guy and I love my roosters. They keep my hens safe and well fed and protected. This rooster comes and stand by me every day in the hopes that I’ll get out the butterscotch pudding flavored medicine and give him a little nibble. Chickens need continuous dosing for about 3 months even when they seem better or are completely cured, so he gets a few cm of this product every few days. I let the other chickens have a little nibble so they don’t get jealous if they want it. Just be mindful that while selenium is water soluble and therefore your chicken cannot overdose on that mineral, vitamin E is fat soluble and you do not want to give too much of it to your chickens. Just be smart and use your common sense.

Appears to have worked for my chicken
My rooster had wry neck and after doing some research, I found I should try this product to help him. We ended up using the whole container of vitamin. We put this product into a smaller syringe to administer to the rooster. Gave him like three small amounts of this vitamin at a time. The syringe the vitamin came in has a twist/turn thing at the end where you push the vitamin from the tube. Makes it easier to put just the right amount you want but didn’t realize this until we had used up most of the vitamin. No directions were on the product tube itself about this helpful mechanism. This product is designed for goats but of course you use a way smaller amount for chickens. My rooster appears better for the most part and I feel I need to contribute it to this product. Will totally buy this product again if I ever need it for wry neck.

Used for wry neck for rooster
I used one 400iu vitamin e capsule, 1/4-1/2 super b complex, and a pea size of this to treat my rooster with an extreme case of wry neck. I used the vitamins 2x a day, but this paste only once a day in the morning. He was like new by day 11.I HATE that there is dye in this, it is going to a farm animal, and is completely unnecessary. Heads up to the company, a lot of people don’t like dyes and artificial flavoring. It doesn’t matter who is consuming it. If I saw another company with a product similar to this, without those things and was more expensive, I would go with them instead.

    This saved my Silkie 🐔
Sadly my Silkie chicken had such a bad case of wry neck that we’re were prepared to dispatch the pour soul. Vitamins in the water/food wasn’t working. Her head was completely upside down and she couldn’t eat or drink. In a Hail Mary attempt I bought this after reading the reviews. It SAVED HER LIFE! It did take patience. I gave her about a pea sized amount on the tip of a syringe filled with water 3 times a day. She was able to eat it off the end of the syringe and then I have her the water to wash it down. Fed her scrambled eggs finely chopped as well. After about 3 days she was able to hold her head up for a few minutes to eat and drink independently. By day 5 she was walking again. Day 10 now and she is good again. It took lots of patience, but I’m definitely keeping this on had for next time and starting treatment early!

I have a sweet little chick that has been dealing with wry neck, everyone told me to cull. But I couldn’t bring myself to, so I’ve been reading as much as I could when I stumbled across a review of this product. I had already been giving vitamins but I figure what was the harm in trying something else.Boy am I ever so glad that I did. We are only on Day two of treatment and I can already see a substantial difference in the chick! She is no longer hunched over star gazing, she’s able to keep her balance and hold her head up proper. It’s amazing! Highly highly recommend this product!

I have a Silkie rooster that has had wry neck for several months, which recently became worse. I saw this was used by others and I didn’t have any high hopes. To my surprise after 6 daily doses of 1mil, my rooster is back! Back to his old self after 6 months. I could believe it I had to write this review. For administration – I just squeezed out a quarter sized glob on a cucumber boat or tomato slice and he ate the glob right away. Likes the taste, searches the ground for more. No need for trying to force it down their beaks.Just expensive is all
