Saccharomyces Boulardii (S. boulardii)

Discovered by French scientist Henri Boulard in 1923. He noticed that the people indigenous to Southeast Asian would chew on the peels of lychee and mangosteen fruits to ward off the diarrhea-causing disease cholera. Modern scientists have found that S. boulardii has antitoxin, antimicrobial, and anti inflammatory effects.

Bifidobacterium Animalis Lactis (Formerly Named B. infantis)

Considered one of the earliest colonizers of the human gut, Bifidobacterium infantis or B infantis for short has been found to remove cholesterol from its environment as well as to normalize the acidity of the gut. It also interacts with the immune system to help provide a healthier immune response.

Supports Gastrointestinal Health

Probiotics help your body break down food. They love it in there since it’s a warm, moist, and protected environment. They actually live off of the food that you eat, reducing your caloric intake. In doing so, probiotics play an important role in digestion and have been found to support regular bowel movements.

One particular strain, Bacillus coagulans, has been found to be helpful in improving the vaginal flora, improving abdominal pain and bloating in irritable bowel syndrome patients, and increasing immune response to viral challenges.

Supports Skin Health

The skin and gut are intimately connected. In fact, they form one continuous surface. If you unfolded your gut you would find that it has the surface area of 300 square meters, roughly the size of an Olympic tennis court.

In terms of numbers, you actually have more gut than you have skin. Probiotics also live on your skin and several studies have found a connection between gut and skin health.

Supports Immune Health

70% of your immune system resides in the gut. Your immune system is constantly sampling the contents of your gut and is constantly interacting with the probiotics inside. The complexity of this interaction is still being studied.

One thing is for certain- probiotics act as competition for bad actors inside the gut and help them, prevent them from becoming too big of a problem. In doing so, they help support your immune system.

Supports Mental Health

Another less well known interaction occurs between the gut and brain. This is called the ‘gut-brain axis’ and recent studies have linked chronic gut inflammation to mental depression.

The probiotic strains within Nexabiotic have been chosen because they are known good probiotics that are well-tolerated and Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS).

Effective and Easy on the Stomach!
I’ve been using DrFormula’s Best Probiotics for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed with the results. It’s gentle on my stomach, and I’ve noticed improvements in digestion and overall gut health. The capsules are easy to swallow, and they don’t leave any aftertaste.I feel more energized and balanced, and I’ve had fewer digestive issues since starting the probiotic regimen. If you’re looking for a high-quality, effective probiotic, this one is definitely worth trying. Highly recommend!

So glad I found this product!
After three weeks of taking this probiotic, I feel better than I have in quite some time, and I’m so glad I found it. I’ve been having digestive issues for about a year and a half, and my doctor ordered a few tests to explore the cause. While a couple of the tests came back normal, some of my blood test results were slightly unusual but didn’t point to any specific diagnosis and could indicate multiple conditions. I didn’t want to immediately begin taking prescription meds and requested to try other options first. I had been taking a probiotic for several months, but as a start to further exploring the root of my ills, one of my doctor’s suggestions was for me to try probiotics with three specific ingredients. She said that many probiotics contain one or two but not all three of the ingredients she cited, and sure enough, that turned out to be the case for mine. I didn’t really want to buy and take multiple pilIs and was unable to find anything with all three ingredients through national/local pharmacies until I somehow stumbled across DrFormulas Nexabiotic in my online research. It appears to be the saccharomyces that was missing from my former probiotic that is included in this particular blend that has made a difference for me personally. I was hesitant to buy anything ingestible from a company that doesn’t sell its products in stores and isn’t nationally known, but I did a little research and decided to take the leap. I used to feel bloated and icky randomly for hours on end some days, with my abdomen making some crazy noises from top to bottom, with no clear connection as to what might be causing it. Other days I felt just fine, so I figured I had developed food sensitivities to a lot of things I’ve always eaten (dairy and certain veggies, mostly) and would just have to cut out a lot of foods I enjoy or deal with the repercussions. It’s hard to say I felt better instantly after taking this, because my issues were already sporadic, but if it didn’t work instantly for me, it worked within days. It also doesn’t have an odd smell or taste and doesn’t make me nauseous when taken on an empty stomach like many vitamins and supplements do. While we’re not at the end of the journey of diagnosing my specific condition, three weeks into taking this Nexabiotic, I feel normal again most days and with most foods I eat, and when I do have any symptoms, they are very minor compared to what they were before. I have tried to cut back on sweets a little (a little), but I was already doing that anyway most of the time before taking this, so I’m not sure if that has had any effect on how I feel as well. I started out by taking this Nexabiotic at night, but I’ve found that it works best for me taken on an empty stomach with water first thing when I get up (usually around 4am during the week). I usually don’t eat anything (and almost never have a big breakfast) until 2-3 hours afterward, but even if I take it shortly before coffee and a light breakfast snack, it seems to work well and last through the afternoons when I had been having so many issues. I’ve already bought a second bottle to take to work for days that I might forget to take it at home. In my opinion it’s well worth the money from my HSA. DrFormulas Nexabiotic has not entirely eliminated my issues but has significantly reduced my symptoms, and the ones I still have on occasion are much more manageable and less severe. I look forward to seeing my doctor again in a couple months to continue exploring my health condition, and I suspect DrFormulas Nexabiotic will continue to be part of my daily regimen from now on.

Nexabiotic has all 5 strains recommended by the book “The Brain Maker” by Dr David Pearlmutter
I read the book of Dr David Pearlmutter “The Brain Maker” and he recommends 5 strains. This is the onbly probiotic that contains all of them including the one most missing in other well regarded brands, the Lactobacillus Brevis. Somebody said nexabiotic changed the formula, but they’re all here on this one.5 most important strains are:Lactobacillus plantarum: Found in kimchi, sauerkraut, and other cultured vegetables, this bug is one of the most beneficial bacteria in your body. It survives in the stomach for a long time and performs many functions that help regulate immunity and control inflammation in the gut. It also helps fortify the gut lining, fending off potential invaders that might compromise the intestinal wall and sneak into the bloodstream. In fact, L. plantarum’s beneficial impact on the gut lining is perhaps its most important attribute, for it reduces gut permeability, thereby reducing the associated risks for leaky gut-including an increased risk for virtually every brain disorder. Moreover, L. plantarum can quickly digest protein, and this has the ultimate effect of preventing food allergies and even treating such allergies when they arise. Its been shown in experimental animal studies to protect engineered mice from having clinical symptoms of multiple sclerosis and even reduce the inflammatory response typical of that condition. Finally, L. plantarum has an uncanny ability to absorb and maintain important nutrients such as brain-friendly omega- 3 fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. All of these actions make L. plantarum essential for fighting infection and taking control of any pathogenic bacteria.Lactobaccilus acidophilus: L. acidophilus is the darling of fermented dairy products, including yogurt. It keeps the balance of good vs. bad bacteria in check and in doing so, aids your immune system. In women, it helps to curb the growth of Candida albicans, a fungus that can cause yeast infections. L. acidophilus has also gained fame for its ability to help maintain cholesterol levels. In the small intestine, L. acidophilus produces many beneficial substances that combat pathogenic microbes, including acidolphilin, acidolin, bacteriocin, and lactocidin.Lactobaccilus brevis: Sauerkraut and pickles owe a lot of their benefits to this bug, which improves immune function by increasing cellular immunity and even enhancing killer T cell activity. It’s so effective in combating vaginosis, a common bacterial infection of the vagina, that it’s added to pharmaceuticals used to treat it. L. brevis also acts to inhibit the effects of certain gut pathogens. Perhaps best of all, it has been shown to increase levels of that all-star brain growth hormone BDNF.Bifidobacterium lactis (also called B. animalis): Fermented milk products like yogurt contain this gem, which is well documented to have a powerful effect on preventing digestive ills and boosting immunity. It’s also known to be helpful in knocking out food-born pathogens like salmonella, which causes diarrhea.Bifidobacterium longum: Just one of the 32 species that belong to the genus bifidobacterium, this is one of the first bugs that colonize our bodies at birth. It has been associated with improving lactose tolerance and preventing diarrhea, food allergies, and the proliferation of pathogens. It’s also known to have antioxidant properties as well as the ability to scavenge free radicals. In laboratory mice, B. longum has been shown to reduce anxiety. Like L. acidophilus, B. longum also helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels.I hope it helps/Rita

Effective Product for Maintaining Good BM’s
After trying this product again, I’ve found it to provide regular BM’s without any upset stomach or diarrhea. I usually take two capsules at nighttime on an fairly empty stomach. On one or two occasions, I took three capsules at nighttime and it seemed to be effective (not harmful) as well. Not sure if I’d recommend that everyone do this, though. For me, it was ok. It, however, honestly took about 3 weeks before I noticed a definite positive difference and change with this Nexabiotic product. I would recommend this to anyone interested in taking a reliable probiotic that has a high number of strains and a fair # of CFUs. I would, however, prefer a higher number of CFUs, but this product’s number seems to be quite effective compared to other products out there. (For comparison purposes, I am 55 y/o male in very good health and have no gastrointestinal problems. I’m only taking probiotics for preventative maintenance purposes, to maintain good BM’s, and maintain good health). As stated, I believe this product helps with just that in a reasonably priced manner for what you get.

I don’t have any major digestive conditions, but take prescribed medication and have lifestyle issues that can disrupt digestive function. So I periodically experience gastritis, OR constipation, OR loose stools, OR bloating and gas (after eating grains or cruciferous veg).I take one capsule of this product most mornings on an empty stomach, aiming for the next meal or snack to include prebiotics (fruit/ veg/ seeds/ green tea/ inulin). I do not take the recommended second dose before bed, primarily to save money. This has reduced bloating and gas, plus normalised frequency … although not noticably better than cheaper products with far fewer strains and CFUs.UPDATE: Following a course of antibiotics I had terrible bloating and constipation. This product relieved the symptoms within days. Despite the cost Nexabiotic has earned a permanent place in my refrigerator.

It’s hard to answer if these probiotic works for you, because all bodies are different, and we all have different diets. But for me I can feel a difference in my skin and my vag. I have had issue with thrush, but these have helped.I eat 3 a day, as I feel like 1 is not enough.
