The front of the pedal travels in a circle while the back of the pedal travels in a straight line. This makes it easy to modify your position and which muscles you’re targeting.

Position feet toward the backPosition feet toward the back

Heel placement at the back of the pedal minimizes vertical knee motion and provides greater clearance for taller users.

Position feet forwardPosition feet forward

Toe placement toward the front of the pedal creates a greater, more circular range of motion that still fits most desks and users.

    Sturdy & Quiet
I’m very happy with the quality of the DeskCycle Ellipse. It is sturdy, functions very smoothly, and is silent when in use. I was disappointed to learn that, despite the online description, it does not link to FitBit or any other app. It was recently acquired by another company, so I imagine that description will be updated. I really like the display. It is easy to read, and I love that it can be removed so it can sit on your desk. No more awkward ducking down to read the display.

Excellent for Physical Therapy at home!!!
I have had chronic pain in my SI joint, right hip, and right leg for nearly three years due to a work injury. After going to the chiropractor for months and months to very little avail, I was losing hope in how to address the injury and fix my atrophy and strengthen my core while being unable to work due to the pain and discomfort. I am only 31 years old… After starting Physical Therapy and realizing that low-impact exercise is the key to recovery (in my situation, and many others), I decided to do research on at-home under desk cycles and ellipticals. It was a close call between this, the Desk Cycle 2, and the multiple versions of the Cubii. The Cubii seemed to have too much fitness tracking and tech addons that made the price unjustifiable/unnecessary to me. I also noticed through days and days of comparisons and reviews that Desk Cycle Ellipse was coming out above the competitors on range of motion, resistance settings, noise, and foot placement (different foot placement works different muscles vs the Cubii working only one set). So far, the Ellipse has made a HUGE difference in my physical recovery. When I am not at PT or doing my exercises at home, I am using the Ellipse any chance I can get. It really helps my morning aches and stiffness when using it first thing in the morning while checking email/drinking coffee. It really is about as silent as it gets without being invisible and/or defying physics. the rotation is very smooth, the ‘clicking’ people mention is attributed to a lack of lubricant on the wheels/base, not the bearings or flywheel. I was concerned when I got the clicking noise, but after trial and error, realized that a little lubricant of any kind and making sure no cat hairs were on the wheel ‘track’ was the fix for me. I would like the option to strap my feet on like the Cubii, as I notice my feet sliding around on higher resistances without running shoes on, but this is an easy and cheap velcro fix vs paying more for the Cubii. Super easy to move and store, and the display screen it comes with is an awesome addition and works well with the Desk Cycle fitness tracker. Zero sliding on carpet, I’d assume wood or tile is even more sturdy but I have zero complaints there too. Highly recommended – zero regrets, and the best investment hands down for my physical recovery I’ve taken in 3 years of exhausting other avenues!

Excellent customer service; product easy to assemble and get started
I waited a whole year before writing this review to be sure I’m still satisfied with it – and I am. My first machine did develop weird rattling noises after 6 months but I contacted customer service and they were quick to get my concerns resolved with a replacement. The new replacement is working great (and quietly); hoping it stays this quiet for years to come. But even if it develops issues again I’d still give this product 5 stars for the customer support and for the product design. Many other models I saw while shopping for a desk elliptical seemed to be made of cheaper material, and were also taller – I was concerned the taller height would have made my knees bump against the bottom of my desk. The DeskCycle had the lowest height from the ground, and you can tell from handling the product that the materials are quality and the product is well made. I have no idea what was creating noises on my first purchase, but many others who had similar issues got a replacement from customer service and seem to have been happy with the new one.Props to the customer service team, they really deserve every rave review here for getting my concerns addressed and resolved quickly and with little effort on my part.If you’re looking for a way to get some extra movement into your work day while at your desk, this was a very easy to install and unobtrusive product. It only takes up the space underneath my desk, nobody can tell I’m pedaling while I’m on a meeting, and when I hit 10,000 steps a day on the elliptical I can really tell my muscles have gotten some burn. Will it replace a HIIT cardio-intense crossfit workout routine? No, but it’s better than nothing, doesn’t require a lot of space to get started, and I can burn a couple hundred calories over the course of the day that I wouldn’t have burnt without this. It’s also a great outlet if you tend to fidget and need movement to help you stay focused.Note: I work from home, so I have no idea how people use this if they were doing a regular 9-5 at an office. For sure it’d be heavy to haul in and out everyday; I guess you’d want to get a lock and chain for it to leave at your desk.

    Buy it!
Well worth it – esp when it’s on sale. I’ve been using it daily for several months. It’s built like a tank. I’m very impressed how solid it is. It even has little bungee clips that securely hold the step platforms in place when you store the machine on its side or move it to a different location. And – importantly – the machine is very quiet so you can use it while on the phone, watching tv, or in an office setting. No slipping or sliding. And you can easily target different leg muscles depending how you position your feet. Very effective lower body workout for those with sedentary jobs. Works out of the box – no assembly required other than inserting a battery into step counter and sliding the counter onto the frame or desk stand. Deducting one star because synching the deskcycle counter with IWatch & Garman watch a bit clumsy & my workaround has been to either keep my watch-wearing wrist on my thigh to capture the steps/rotations or place the watch in my sock. I think the company sells a Bluetooth device to auto sync or you can manually sync, but I prefer my method even if it’s not 100% accurate. I’ve been able to achieve my weekly zone 2-3 intensity minutes & 8000 daily steps goal using this machine & my beloved Forerunner 255S.

This exercise machine is perfect. I use it under my desk and it also serves as a foot rest when not using. It is ultra quiet. Its fine if on lowest tension setting, but once I increase the tension, it requires something to stop my chair from rolling back. There are several options for this on amazon though.

I really enjoy the amount of tension this has and that it allows backwards pedaling! It’s nice to get various muscles engaged depending on foot position. Very easy to assemble – note that the pedals have to be pushed down into the arm though (I struggled with this at first and initially thought the screws were too short but they weren’t lol). Literally just put the pedals on, 4 screws, plug in and mount the display on the front of the machine, peel the sticker off the gear window, and you’re good to go! Very comfortable too – I’m using a chair that rolls on a vinyl floor and it’s still comfortable and usable! Completely silent, the reviews don’t lie there. Definitely worth the purchase to help with restlessness while working at a desk. They made it very consumer friendly. Great job!

So very happy I bought this.I bought this particular one because it looked sturdy and wouldn’t fall apart after a few revolutions. It is sturdy. Very. So, it weighs quite a bit, and when you are trying to get it into the right spot under desk, it may take a bit of effort. But, it means it doesn’t slide around when you are using it.The varying degrees of resistance means there is a setting for pretty much anyone who uses it, and it’s easy to change the resistance setting as needed. It caters for little feet and big feet. When I am using it, it is so quiet it doesn’t interfere with the audio of teams meetings.Because it’s there under the desk, you almost can’t help but use it.I was worried that I would have to keep pushing it out of the way when I wasn’t using it and drag my foot rest back in, but I have found that when I am not actively using it, the peddles are in just the right spot and height to act a foot rest.I have recommended this to friends of mine, and am happy to stand by that recommendation.

This device was easy to assemble. It’s easy to use. It does not require a power source. It runs completely silent. The foot pedals are extra wide and you get a different work out based on whether your feet are in a forward or rear position on the pedals. Step count is slightly inaccurate for your fitbit. My fitbit blaze has an elliptical setting, and I find the numbers are most accurate if I wear the fitbit using an ankle strap, but you probably won’t see perfect 100% recorded cycles. However, despite that I find this workout more rewarding than using my treadmill. The treadmill workout was hard on my joints (essentially just lifting and lowering your legs in place). This gives me the exercise I want while watching my shows. I cannot get over how quietly it cycles–it makes zero noise. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the device. With winter on the way I’m so glad to have this in place. You might also want to invest in a good pair of sandals or house loafers as simply wearing socks while pedaling against the molded pattern in the plastic can be a bit irritating. Overall though, this was an A+ purchase and cheaper than the more popular Cubii.
