Taste good
My doctor recommended this product, so based on his recommendation, I got a quality product. I would not say that it tastes great, but definitely okay, a nice citrus flavor. I add a tsp. to a glass of water and drink to boost my immune system and helps as a natural antihistamine.

Vitamin C
Great Product I love knowing this vitamin C is top quality I also love that it is second best to intravenous C. It’s important for building the immune system, price point is good, I will never be without Vitamin C, not to mention great for heart health. Taste awful.

WARNING – 2024 massive Changes to Formula – Not good
After using this product for YEARS, something seemed very wrong with the latest 2024 order we received. The product, previously mildly sweet but otherwise very subtle, with a barely noticeable lemony flavor, was instead replaced withsomething with a very fake, extremely sweet taste, far too lemony, to the point of being very acidic and to top it off, seemed to have been cut 50/50 with very strong alcohol ( ETHANOL, according to the content list.) This now caustic tasting liquid, more resembles a mixture of concentrated frozen orange juice, mixed with grain alcohol: but even more ACID and BURNY, like you were drinking alcohol. Well, it turns out, we were! The first use after these drastic(unannounced) changes was our last. It seriously burned the throat which could be felt a full half hour later. Not kidding. And translate that to anyone with a delicate GI tract or gu issues. Very very Alarming.//2025 Edit / We have now finally found a substitute for Designs for Health’s awful “ improvement .”We bought a 15oz bottle of Liquid Liposomal Vitamin C from The Vitamin Shoppe, sold under their Thrive brand. It retails for 34.99 for a bottle the size of a shampoo bottle and is FDA approved. That product comes in either 1000mg dose or 3000 mg dose. The flavor is still stronger than the original very subtle DFH product hat this review is for, but its orange/vanilla and contains no alcohol. The Thrive brand Liposomal C is naturally sweetened and contains no Gluten, Artificial Colors or Flavors or Magnesium Stearate. It’s still sweeter than we like, but is a HUGE SAVINGS and we thoroughly trust the Vitamin Shoppe and their Thrive subbrand, so we are much happier albeit have a mouth that tastes like a creamsicle/ End of 2025 Update//Figuring something was wrong with that particular bottle, we then spent the next 30 minutes trying to get through to the manufacturer, to report the lot and product number. But the number on the bottle gave the first sentence of a recorded greeting and then dumped every call we made. Looking online, we found another 1-800 number for customers calling from outside of the US and told the customer service rep that we were from the US but no other numbers for Designs by Health were working. We went on to report the issues with the product and only after going through being told to contact Amazon to report it and that they would connect us, did we ask if they didn’t care about the bad lot we got or want the product lot number? Only after all of that, we listened in disbelief while they told us there had been a “product reformulation” made, but that it was only a “ taste and flavor enhancement.” Well, it failed, we told them. What were they doing? because if it was an attempt to make more money by using other ingredients, whatever the reason, they should have informed the public. They responded by saying that the label had been changed to reflect this, and looking at both the old and new bottles, we saw that the typeface and graphics were different sizes than they had been, but there was nothing at all to let customers know the product had been drastically changed, or changed at all for that matter. This was apparently a US change, not a Canadian change, FYI.Having used this not inexpensive product for years we remain by disappointed that customer service showed little care at all, so we asked to have someone call us back to report the issues we experienced and they agreed. Now it has been over a month, so it’s apparent that this isn’t going to happen. We see from other reviews that we are not alone among customers Designs for Health has lost as a result of these changes. Besides the awful product we received, the customer care department had no problem showing they didn’t care y exhibiting no empathy or support. They could have reached out to us, here or there. We left our contact info with the rep, but nothing. Very very sad. And THAT is how you lose a customer you’ve had for years.

GOOD PACKAGING IN A DARK BOTTLE
I auto-renew this product because it is an excellent way to take Vitamin C. This is “liposomal.” That means that you swish it in your mouth for about 90 seconds and then swallow. The Vitamin C gets fully absorbed through the gums (buccally = cheeks) instead of through the stomach. The stomach houses a plethora of competing microorganisms that would hinder complete digestion. You are hindering the digestive process if you take Vitamin C in pill form.

High quality REAL liposomal C
There are a LOT of fake versions of Liposomal products in the market that don’t really use true liposomes at all. Designs for Health always makes high quality products, this includes! Not only does it have genuine phospholipids needed to make a true Liposomal product but it also is made with sodium ascorbate instead of ascorbic acid which is less acidic and better absorbed by the body. This is about the best option for high quality and highly absorbable C second to getting a direct IV of Vitamin C itself. Highly recommend!

I bought this Liposomal Vitamin C secifically because it said it used Soy Lecithin in the ingredient list. I just got the bottle and the ingredients lists SUNFLOWER lecithin. I can’t return it. This is unacceptable.
