This is one of the safest fish oil around
Doctors say to eat fish for your health. Why? because the fish oil is very nutrious, Various omegas etc. However, the mercury content of many areas of the ocean are poluted and full of it. Also, what if like me, you do not like fish. Then fish oil is the answer. However, fish oil can also be full of mercury and other contaminants depending on where the fish where caught. Is Carlson’s the safest–I don’t know, but it is one of the safest as Carlson tests the fish and the fish oil for contaminants including mercury. The capsules are large but they can be swallowed easily with water or juice. The review asks for taste of capsules. I do not know why you would want to bite into them. However, for those souls who do that, they come in lemon and orange flavored oils. I have accidentally bit into one on occasion, lemon, and it did not taste of fish which in my book is a plus.

No fish burps or stomach upset. High quality fish oil.
I was told to take fish oil several years ago and did. I didn’t know how much to take or what brand so I just bought the cheapest I could find. Fish burps ensued as did stomach upset. I then switched to krill oil which I thought was better than fish oil for cholesterol lowering and heart health. I didn’t get fish burps but my LDL (bad cholesterol) went UP after several months of taking krill oil. I immediately decided to go back to fish oil but which brand? How much? I did a lot of research and found I never took enough when I was taking it and quality matters! I choose Carlson Labs brand because my doctor had mentioned it but also because I researched all sorts of facts on fish oil and this dose and the amount of Omega 3 is exactly what I needed. It was more expensive than other brands but I want the best I can find.I never, ever get fish burps. I can’t taste any lemon as the soft gels are contained but it does the job. I don’t get any stomach upset either. The softgels are pretty large (see photo) but slide down easily.I have no problem swallowing them. I also like that they don’t smell like anything. No fishy scent when I open the bottle or put one in my mouth. I take one a day but the label says you can take up to four a day. I haven’t been taking this long enough to know if it will help my LDL numbers which is why I went with 4 stars but I really feel I have gotten the best and I am happy not to have any side effects. I have a cholesterol test scheduled for two months (I will have been taking this product for three months by then.) and will report back and upgrade to 5 stars if I see improvement. I am very pleased with the lack of any fish smell or taste and the amount of Omega 3 I am now getting. I could have gone with cheaper stuff but I am sticking to this brand.

high quality as advertised – very little burping
I have tried at least 4 other brands of fish oil, one of which was recommended by an optometrist. I have dry eye syndrome, so taking fish oil may help alleviate some symptoms; seems to work for me to some extent. This one promised to cause less burping. I was not impressed and did not purchase again. I stopped taking fish oil for a year or so, but a friend recommended Carlson’s brand. I have had less to no burping after ingesting this fish oil, which is a sign of quality. I have finished a 240 capsule bottle, which is a good price per capsule, and recently bought my 2nd bottle. I have recommended it to others.

Top quality fish oil as recommended by my naturopath. She told me many fish oil products are either already or on their way to being rancid, and the only brand she recommends is Carlson. Been taking it since 2007.

After a lot of researching these seem to be the best fish oils for my children ie the proportions o of 3-6-9 seem appropriate however it is difficult with the amount of information out there to define what is right. They are epxensive but most good quality omega oils are.My children are more than happy to have them – they chew them up as the capsules are huge (adult version) without complaining about the taste.(There are no RDAs for omega oils so was happy to give them the adults version – they just have 2 instead of the recommended adult dosage of 5 capsules per day.)
