Great for the Price and Quality
This was very easy to put together and although the rubbery smell can be a bit overwhelming, I just kept spraying a gentle and natural air freshener over it for about 4 days and it went away. I put this together myself, a weak chick!, and love the weight ranges as I begin to work my way up! Great quality for price. Great for beginners and novices alike! Small enough to fit in the corner, yet enough weight to start you off on your fitness journey!

Great little rack and weights. Takes up very little real estate on the floor, and weights up to 25 is good enough for most home workouts. I wish there were another matching set and rack with a 30, 40, and 50 just like it.The rack is pretty rock solid when It’s weighted down. Remember to replace your heavier weights when done to prevent it become top heavy in the case of a bump. It’s a little tricky to assemble by yourself, but doable.Get a rag ready to wipe off the weights, they still have industrial oils on them. Expect mechanic level grime from these guys, but once wiped down they look pretty fresh.

If you’re able to snag this weight set when it’s available for what amounts to a shekel per pound, you’ve got yourself a true bargain. The weights are nice, and I believe they’re fairly accurate. Cap also makes the in-between sizes (3, 8 and 12 lbs.), so I purchased sets of those weights too. A set of the 30 lb. weights will eventually be added to my collection and I’ll call it done.Of course all of these added weight sets won’t fit on the included A-frame rack (which is a nice little bonus included in the original set), so I went and purchased a Deltech Fitness 8 Pair Dumbbell Rack which is also available on Amazon (and reviewed by me as well).True, the weights do off gas, but I’m confident this will dissipate in time. Maybe I’m not super sensitive to the smell, but it is tolerable and I’ve yet to clean them. And they do need to be cleaned as you will find out when you wash your hands after handling them. Neither the off gassing nor the industrial residue is a deal breaker for me, and I was fully prepared to encounter both issues.If you’re looking for a solid weight set at an excellent price, this is it.

Good value for a decent dumbell set
This is a good dumbbell set to start your home gym. It’s helpful to have variety of weights like this in the lower weight dumbbells so you can quickly change your lifting weight. I also have adjustable dumbbells but they take a while to transition weights which can lead to cooling down too much during a workout. I now use adjustable dumbbells for higher weights.Having the weights shipped did have some disadvantages though. They dumbbells were very greasy but were easily cleaned with dish soap. They were also scratched and dented a little due to shipping but not enough to warrant a return of such a heavy item.The stand A-frame weight stand is pretty flimsy but good enough and is a great space saver.EDIT: I was curious how the weights compared to the adjustable weights and found they were less accurate than I expected. The 5, 10, 15 were all accurate but the 20 was 19.4lbs and the 25 was only 23.4. Over a pound off. A little disappointed about the difference but they still add resistance.

I was nervous to buy these because of the negative reviews, BUT I AM SO GLAD I DID!!1. They all came on the same day, but 4 boxes, 3 of weights and 1 stand. Delivery was very quick.2. They do have some oil/residue on them when you first pull them out of the box. I just wiped them down with soapy water and a rag and it came off easily.3. I have read that some of the weights are off in actual weight. So I weighed them all. 5s,10s&15s all weighed what they are supposed to. The 20s and 25s were off by 0.5-1lb. But this is not a deal breaker for me, and also could have been the way I had them on the scale.4. The stand is sturdy, but could get wonky and off balance if you tighten the bolts down too much at the beginning. My advice would be to not tighten them down all the way until the whole thing is put together. Also, all of the places that the weights sit have a rubber coating to prevent scratches which I think is great, and I can get the weights out of the rack easily without pinching my fingers.5. None of mine had any sharp edges on the metal, nor the rubber, but you can tell they came out of a mold.6. There is a rubber smell, yes, but in my opinion it was not awful and it disappeared quickly.don’t let the negative reviews get to you. Highly recommend and very excited to use them.

No Problems
Barbells are simple, stupid things with no moving parts. These are fine, no sharp edges, no imbalance. That leaves the rack – the pieces, the assembly process, the design. No problems here. Kit included all the pieces with understandable illustrated instructions. Everything fit together as intended and assembly was doable with just the included hex key (Allen wrench) and one user-supplied wrench or even pliers to hold each nut while you tighten with the hex. Delivered in multiple boxes, of course, and a couple are heavy enough to get torn up pretty badly during handling by the shipper. But everything arrived. And the barbells fit in the rack just fine. It is up to you to pick them up and pump.
