Buy it!
I accidentally took Boswellia Serrata in a Glucosime product. After researching it I bought this bag. No regrets! I mix 1/8 to 1/4 tsp with olive oil for myself and my dog for pain relief and it is stunning how well it works, how fast it works, and long lasting the pain relief is. The fact that it does no damage to the body as well known OTC pain relievers do (heart and kidney damage are well known side effects for two famous brands) is wonderful. It tastes bad…like bitter perfume, but the taste goes away with a drink of water. One could always mix the oil and use capsules which are available to purchase.Last week I tripped and fell while shopping. By the time I got home I could hardly walk and the pain went from my knee to my ankle. I took a large dose (1/4 tsp) and within half an hour the pain was gone. The anti inflammatory effect is comparable to a corticosteroid. Research this resin on Google Scholar. If you are on a blood thinner you should not use Boswellia Serrata. That was the only problem identified in the studies.

Seems effective, versatile
I bought this when my usual item “Now Boswellia extract” in capsule form, was unavailable.I find it good for reducing allergic reactions and also helpful with asthma. And for sure, it reduces joint pain and/or muscle pain. This powdered form seems very effective all-around. It tastes a little bitter or acidic but it is not unpleasant for me. The instructions say to take it with food. My favorite way of taking it is mixed with a little orange marmalade, on bread, with a little oil/fat but I also have taken it mixed with water or another liquid, or sprinkled on dried apricot. I usually add some fat to the accompanying food to help bioavailability. The taste does not bother me at all so I have a lot of options.

Better than big pharma anytime
This is good stuff. I’m an R.N. and avoid pharmaceuticals at all costs. I don’t take any medications except antibiotics when absolutely necessary which pretty much never. I add it to my morning smoothies and have been using Boswellia for a few months and feel it is very helpful for joint inflammation from my minor arthritis from years of abusing myself playing sports. I combine this with curcumin extract and believe these work very synergistically together. Both are proven effective anti-inflammatories.The best thing about taking products like these as opposed to pharmaceutical medications is that there are no side effects and there are numerous other benefits such as anti-cancer and systemic inflammation protection that is absent from traditional medications. There’s been many studies that prove the effectiveness of boswellia. Even the shrinking of pancreatic tumors and gliomas. It doesn’t mix well in fluids, though when I put into hot tea it dissolves more readily than cold water. It’s been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years and natural products are ALWAYS preferable to the pharmaceutical garbage.I think Bulk Supplements products are always of the highest quality available. I only wish a few more of the products would be available in organic grade but otherwise you can’t go wrong.

Good for Joint Pain
Boswellia Serrata extract aids in the improvement of healthy joint function and mobility, and maintains normal digestive function. This resinous frankincense powder is sticky and a little tricky to put into capsules, but still works fine. It’s a great supplement for those dealing with joint pain and inflammation, and those with chronic conditions like arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. The smell and taste are not particularly yummy (more like yucky), so personally I wouldn’t go past taking this powder supplement in capsules. I would absolutely NOT ingest this stuff on its own, nor would I ingest it in some mixture. However it’s up to you… but it’s not as pleasant and sweet as L-theanine or Tulsi/Holy Basil for instance, which are also great choices for breaking pain/stress cycles. If you suffer from chronic pain, I would recommend trying this along with other supplements such as turmeric, ginger, MSM, Hyaluronic Acid, Glucosamine, and herbs such as Meadowsweet, White Willow, Blue Vervain, and Skullcap.Bulk Supplements is a good company, but every single bag closure is faulty, so you better have a backup airtight container or mylar bag on hand. I just fold the bag up and tie it with a rubber band, then try to keep it inside a larger airtight standing kraft bag. It drives me crazy that they do not change their defective bags- they simply do not close, not once, not ever. Switching over THIS stuff is not something I’m willing to do.If you have joint pain, try boswellia.

Like all Bulk Supplements products, it’s the good stuff
I use this for arthritis. For me, 600mg in a 00 capsule with meals, works better than anything else I’ve tried for keeping the pain and stiffness at bay. Easy on my stomach, which is a huge plus. I haven’t been able to keep with other products I’ve tried as they’ve all made a mess of my innards. I’d love to find a curcumin preparation my insides will tolerate to pair with it, but as of yet, no dice. I’ve given up on chondroitin, glucosamine, msm and the like. For me, they scarcely move the needle. Btw, like curcumin, Boswellia isn’t absorbed very readily, so you want to take it with a fatty meal. The only downside, is that this stuff is a super fine powder. Takes a bit of gentle handling when dispensing or you can easily have it go everywhere. So, use a scoop or a spoon. Leave pouring from the bag for the experts unless you like to live dangerously. For those not familiar, Boswellia is also known as Frankincense. So, as far as supplements go, this stuff has a very pleasant aroma and slightly acidic taste to it. You could wash down the dry powder and not mind the taste (it does not dissolve in water). But, for the sake of convenience and not spreading the stuff everywhere, I put it in capsules. Invest in one of the gadgets out there for filling capsules, if you don’t have one. They’re easy to use and it’ll pay for itself in no time flat.
