Brain Basics D3 Plus Capsules
Didn’t have any problem with the seals on my bottle, there was the outer plastic band and then a thin regular seal across the top of the bottle. It’s good to take Vitamin D with Vitamin K as they are synergistic. I have a tendency to test low on Vitamin D so I’ve been taking these supplements separately for a while now. I like that this product combines the two and then adds in magnesium which also works to make absorption of Vit D more effective. It’s certainly easier to take one capsule instead of three. The capsules are on the larger side but not huge and are easy to swallow with no lingering aftertaste. Because I’ve already been consuming these supplements I haven’t noticed any difference but am assuming they are giving me the same benefits. I won’t know for sure until I get my biannual blood tests in another few months.

Concerned about the seal
I have to agree with the other reviewers of this product regarding the safety seal, or the lack thereof. My bottle did have a seal that was stuck up inside the lid that was very flimsy and thin. I suppose it could have come off when I opened the bottle, but I can’t be sure. On the bottom of the bottle, which may be confused some reviewers was a manufacturing date and an expiration date. Both dates were very clearly stamped on my bottle, so I was not concerned about that. The product ingredients seem very good with vitamin D, K1, K2 and magnesium. Since my Vitamin D levels are so low, I decided to give this product and try. So far, I have had no digestive upset but have not noticed any change in mood, mind or memory. I imagine it takes several months of consumption before you would notice any discernible difference. I will definitely update this review after my next Vitamin D level check or if I experience any other benefits or concerns. I believe the manufacturer needs to pay more attention to the seal.

Vitamins for brain health
Vitamin D3 helps body absorb Calcium and Phosphorus and is important for building and having strong bones.Vitamin K is required by human body for post-synthesis modification of certain proteins that are required for blood coagulation or controlling calcium in bones and other tissues.Magnesium supports muscle and nerve function and energy production. Chronically low levels can increase the risk of blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis.Overall, with such powerful ingredients, Opti D3 Plus is a nutritional supplement to support mood, mind and memory.Recommended dose is one capsule per day with or without food, therefore one bottle covers 3 months.I took this supplement for a few days but it will require more time to see a long term effect. I have not seen any side effects and the benefits of these ingredients are well known, so I don’t see anything in the composition to raise any concerns.

No thank you
Wow. The bottle I received had such a flimsy ‘safety seal’ that it merely lifted right off; I just pulled up with very little pressure and voila, open sesame. Then the thin internal piece of styrofoam-paper that you’re supposed to peel off was stuck inside the plastic lid. But that troubles me less than an “Amz Exp” sticker of 02/2023 placed over the bottle’s factory printed date of 2021. (The month was obscured but the 2021 remained visible). Seeing as how I received this 10/12/22, I wouldn’t have been thrilled with a legit expiry being only 4 months away. Not a happy camper. I obviously cannot recommend or even properly review these since I have no intentions of taking one.

It’s vitamin D
I’ve been taking the under-the-tongue olive oil drop kind of vit. D for a few years now, so it was interesting to try the pill kind. I like the addition of magnesium, which most don’t have, and though I don’t have a way of measuring absorption, I didn’t notice any negative changes vs. my previous vitamin D. The liquid kind boasts of superior absorption, so I consider “no negative changes” to be a positive. I did miss being able to give myself a few more drops if I hadn’t been exposed to sun or needed an extra boost, but I could at least be sure I was always getting the same amount, which is less certain with the liquid version. It was also more convenient to have it in pill form, since I could just include it with the rest of my pills instead of having to remember to take a dropper separately. I appreciate also that this has no additives (like stearates or titanium dioxide), and the value for 90 days of high-quality vit. D seems good. I’d give this another try if my usual brand of vit. D went out of stock for sure.

Daily intake
I took one capsule every day with a meal for a few weeks and I noticed a few things. My mood was already at a 10 so it went up a little bit more than that, not too much. A bit quicker on the memory front. More like little blips, helpful but not a whole lot. Its a supplement that I would take on a daily basis. The safety seal issue was a bit concerning and the capsules don’t have have a smell which is good.
