    Great for balance
I like the firmness of the pad and the difficulty it provides for balancing exercises. I wish it was a couple of inches larger.

Cat and PT approved wobble board alternative
I decided to purchase this after using a similar foam pad at my physical therapist (PT)’s office after an ankle sprain. The seller includes a book with exercises, including some of the ones I’ve done with my PT. I use this primarily for practice with balance but you can do more rigorous exercises such as planks, squats, step-ups, etc. I also use it as an alternative to a wobble board as part of my work from home setup. In addition, my cats seem to really enjoy it. Although it’s a little pricey for a hunk of foam, you can tell it is of great quality and won’t deteriorate as quickly due to its firmness. Just by standing on it, you can get a low-impact exercise. Also to add, it’s a much larger size than the one I used at my PT’s office so that’s nice.

    Stiff but good
The pad is well designed and sturdy. I got it to relearn balance after 7 month battle with cancer and chemo, so its firmness is not really what I need because it is too easy to balance. But for squats and planks the pad is awesome.

    Exactly as described
Having used a balance pad in PT following hip replacement, I decided to order one so I can keep up with my exercises at home. The pad is large, well made, and provides just the right amount of support. I have definite balance issues from years of accommodating a painful hip, so it’s important for me to do whatever I can to regain proper balance. Also, I have several road trips planned, and this pad will easily travel with me so I can stay on top of my routine. I definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to improve their balance. Do use it safely. I keep mine in the kitchen where I can use counters for support when needed.

    Quality product
The balance pad is well made and great for helping to improve balance . The pad was recommended by PT specialist for home balance exercises. Safety is key so a spotter or a sturdy table is needed to keep you safe at least initially. I wish the Pad were a bigger to accommodate exercises done in a corner for exercises requiring a couple walls to catch yourself.

    Comfy
Provides a good balance of firmness when used under sit bones, knees when doing floor exercises. It provides just enough elevation in order to make my floor exercises more effective; it creates proper alignment with an ultimate goal to avoid injury to knees and lower back strain. I haven’t had it very long but can tell it is durable. Great feature is that it has no funky odor that, often times, is found in material of this kind. Happy w purchase!

I use it for two purposes: 1) under knees for yoga, downward dog, cat-cow; and 2) to stand on for “wobble & balance” exercises, single-leg raises, lunges, etc. Foam is high quality that you would see at a gym. A versatile piece for many of my home exercises. Recommended

I have several Sports Medica products and this balance pad is an excellent addition to my stretching and workout regime. Like their other products, the pad is high-quality and durable, and also smells neutral (non toxic), which is important to me. It is also the perfect size for easy storage. I highly recommend it!

I use this much more than I had anticipated. From having it as a cushion for hip thrusts, to pads for knees when doing nordic ham curls, to balance exercises (even at work), to calf raises (wicked burn due to the instability it creates).Buy it – you will find a ton of uses – enjoy it!

We have been doing some exercises (strength, conditioning and stretching) using two of Dr Ragan Chatterjee’s books (The 4 Pillar Plan & Feel Better in 5) as guidelines for the last couple of years. So, we are used to doign our morning exercises but this foam balance pad now adds another dimension in that you work your core more because of the inbuilt instability of the pad. It’s early days, but we both feel the pad is going to be great going forward. The pad itself is of the right size, nice and light, and non-slip. My wife also does Yoga and having tried some exercises such as a lateral stretch finds that there is less pressure on her knees when using this pad (even compared with her normal thick Yoga mat). The book that accompanies the mat provides example exercises (beginner, intermediate and advanced) that is useful if you need a bit of guidance. There is also some information on the other products from Sports Medica.
