Used for PT
My physical therapist has a similar piece of equipment in her office. I looked hers up online and it was almost $90. This balance cushion comes in several colors and what make it different and better than the one in my therapist office is that it is way cheaper and has a different foam density on each side of the pad.I ordered the larger size and it works for what I bought it for. If you have bigger feet you may want a larger size pad. It is not as heavy as the one in my therapist office but it is comfortable, sturdy and functions as needed.

Small dense pad
This balance pad is small and lightweight, and solid enough to stand on easily, at least for me. It is about an inch and a half tall, so not real thick. Overall, it’s fine for yoga, balance, etc. The only thing I don’t care for is that the foam seems more easily tearable than some other mats I have. My dog walked across it and left permanent little rips from her claws. I would advise against using this with shoes for that reason, but it seems fine for barefoot or sock use. It does repel fluids fairly well in case you spill your water.

not as big as it appears in the advertising pictures
I know that they give the measurements. That being said, however, the pictures in the description are deceptive. It is nowhere near as big as it appears in those photos. It is a nice firm, thick foam however. So do with that information as you will.

Good for physical therapy at home
Recovering from acl surgery the balance Goan works great can fit two feet in it at time but better for one foot at a time. Quality feels good, easy to use and comfortable with the 2 inches.

adequate for our needs
This balance mat is for a person who is using it for a balance and body awareness issues. He is able to step off and on, and perform some exercises on the mat. It has also helped with protection of his knees when he is in a quadruped position for exercises. Mat is not the same quality as a professional mats I was use too, when I was active therapist, but this mat is far more economical and is surviving the purpose it was intended for with my family member.
