Easy-to-swallow pills for macula health
First off, I am not qualified to review the medical efficacy of these vitamins. I can only state that when I compared the supplement facts to my other macula vitamins, these vitamins from Superfood MD contain a comparable amount of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, and Copper. These contain less Lutein and Zeaxanthin than my other macula vitamins, but I cannot give a medical opinion on if these are too little or just right.I must emphasize the warning on the bottle to check with your doctor before taking these vitamins. Your doctor will have a better idea of how much you need based on the current state of your macula. As I have a family history of macular degeneration, it’s important for me to take vitamins like these, and I’m glad that they are mostly comparable to the vitamins I have been taking for 10 years.Physically, these capsules are fine. They have a strong smell when you first open the bottle, but that is typical of many vitamins. They’re smooth and easy to swallow. The “serving size” is 2 capsules, so this box of 120 count will last you 2 months. It’ll be hard to craft a proper review without knowing the long-term success of these pills. If I learn of a change in my macula from my doctor that is related to this product, I’ll certainly return to amend this review.

Supplement which aligns with the AREDS2 study
The ingredients in this eye supplement follow the AREDS2 study which was a follow up to the AREDS study which found that a specific combination of vitamins and minerals reduced the risk of AMD, age-related macular degeneration, which is a scary disease that causes vision loss so I am glad to use this supplement. Beta-carotine which was included in the AREDS supplements is not included in the AREDS2 ones because it may cause lung cancer in people who smoke. The AREDS2 study also sought to find out if omega 3 supplements helped eyes and it was determined that they did not so they are not included. I was just listening to a podcast by an eye doctor yesterday and he said that eating oily dish DOES help the eyes but omega 3 supplements were not shown to help based on some conversion factor that is missing in the supplement.

Good quality eye vitamins
Eye care providers are encouraging AREDS 2 as a beneficial part of eye care so when I saw these I thought I would compare them to the generic I have purchased from the warehouse store. Ingredients are the same however the capsules are different from the brand name and the generics I have been buying. That said, I thought I needed to recheck the ingredients and had my wife check them to and sure enough they are. They are more expensive than what I am used to buying so not sure I want the additional cost which is why I am rating them at r stars rather than 5. If you are a fan of Superfood MD these are definitely the eye vitamins to purchase!

Eye health
After two retina surgeries in the same eye for epi-retinal membrane and cataract lens replacement, my 62-yo eyes need assistance to maintain good vision.Superfood MD checks some the boxes regarding brand quality, and the label includes limited info on the company in Phoenix, AZ. On Amazon, Superfood MD offers three products in various quantities (its e-commerce site offers just one). The brand doesn’t have a long track record so that might be something to consider. The packaging bottle has two safety seals so that is a good thing. The formulation is equivalent to the “#1 Doctor Recommended Brand” that is sold at the leading membership big box store. The pricing at the time of the review is equal to the #1 brand on a per capsule basis. Thus, a good alternative if you don’t have access to the membership store.

Quick Delivery, 100% Standard AREDS 2 Formula and Reasonably Priced
I have been taking AREDS 2 supplements for a few years at the recommendation of my ophthalmologist. Saw these on Amazon and ordered a 3-month supply (3 plastic bottles with 60 tablets each – 2 tablets per day). The shipment was very quick and packaged appropriately. The expiration date on each bottle was almost 2 years from the delivery date. The ingredients and dosages precisely matched the standard AREDS 2 formula (Vitamin C 500 mg, Vitamin E 400 IU/180 mg, Lutein 10 mg, Zeaxanthin 2 mg, Zinc 80 mg, Copper 2 mg). I can’t speak to the efficacy but see no reason why these will be any different than the more expensive AREDS 2 tablets I have been taking. What’s not to like???

Solid Supplement for Eye Health
The AREDS 2 Eye Vitamin & Mineral Supplement has been a great choice for supporting my eye health. It has all the key ingredients like lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin C, zinc, and vitamin E, plus the added copper thatโs recommended in the formula.Iโve noticed my eyes feel less strained, especially after long days on screens. They donโt feel as dry or tired as they used to, and Iโve definitely been feeling more confident in giving my eyes the nutrients they need. The capsules are easy to swallow and donโt have any weird aftertaste, which is always a win.

They seem to be OK.
As with any vitamin or supplement, you can’t very often tell how well it is working or how much it is benefiting you in any way. These are no exception. However, one of the main things I watch for is whether or not they are causing any problems or bad side effects. These have not caused any problems so far and I would hope they’re doing me some good. I think only taking 1 instead of the recommended 2 is smarter however. This thing with having a “billion percent” of the recommended daily value is kinda stupid when you think about it. Your body is only going to use a chunk of that overkill and just flush the rest down the toilet, so why take more than you need? I saw one vitamin B supplement advertised that is showing 20,834 % of the recommended DV of B12. Why? That’s just nuts. There are several vitamins that can be toxic in too large of quantities. These are fairly reasonably priced if you only take 1 and in my opinion, that will do just as much good as taking 2, or 10 for that matter. I guess that’s up to each individual to decide.
