    Can be clumpy
I was surprised the packaging touts that it is “delicious mixed with water” but it actually didn’t mix well with water at all – there were unfortunately lots of clumps in the bottom of my water bottle even after extensive vigorous mixing. However, it does have a nice taste to it that’s light and isn’t overpowering. It also doesn’t have a gritty feel like some fiber supplements. Anyways, time will tell if this supports regularity (I’ll come back to write more after regularly taking this supplement). Some additional pros: it is organic with no sugar and also includes probiotics to help with better gut health. I’ve actually been buying Dr. Axe’s supplements (now called Ancient Nutrition) for over a decade because they have always been some of the highest quality on the market for consumers.

Mild but Delicious Flavor and No Grittiness Whatsoever
The need for fiber in the diet is very real and yet, it is treated as something of a taboo. When the topic of dietary fiber IS spoken about, the talk centers around jokes regarding Metamucil and constipation. If patients were educated effectively, the problem would not exist because people would consume sufficient omega 3 essential fatty acids, sufficient glutamine for intestinal health at the very least, and sufficient magnesium in various salts, including, however, not limited to, magnesium citrate. Similarly, a more effective education would result in a more widespread awareness of the need to consume much more soluble fiber than is currently the case. In total, a person should consume 34g of fiber every day; what is more likely is that the number might reach 10g on a good day.Ancient Nutrition makes excellent supplements, I am a devotee of their Bone Broth that has, as a label flavor, “Pure” and I am very happy with the results. Their Organic Fiber is an excellent product with a mild but delicious flavor. There is no chalkiness, no grittiness, no weird flavor notes, just a soft raspberry flavor with some lemonade notes. Drinking this very healthy fiber supplement was no effort, once mixed, it stayed mixed in the time that I waited. Fiber supplements get a bad reputation mainly because the reason people are taking them –besides NOT having enough fiber in their diet in the first place– is because they lack a sufficient level of magnesium, among other things, something which is inevitable in the customary western diet. However, when you use a fiber supplement like this one regularly and add the aforementioned supplements, most will find it surprising that you are in and out of the bathroom so quickly and free from the hassles they encounter routinely. Moreover, your low serum total cholesterol and subterranean LDLs will make anyone whom you tell positively envious –even if they don’t say it.Soluble fiber comes in many varieties and some can even be used to cook, there really is no excuse to not eat more fiber because they won’t even change the texture. Ancient Nutrition’s Organic Fiber is different, it has a gentle and refreshing flavor and two billion colony forming units of Bacillus coagulans so, while you cannot cook with it, you can drink it with a meal and enjoy its refreshing and gentle flavor with some crushed ice while improving your intestinal microbiome. The goal is to eat what you need rather than what your eye tempts you to eat and this is an easy way to add fiber to any meal and slow its digestion and thence help control the amplitude of blood sugar level variations. One thing that I found incredibly annoying is that while the label is a tour de force, the instructions on how to mix the drink seem almost an afterthought. They say to mix one scoop in 10 oz of liquid. The information is printed in a fine print above the “Supplement Facts” label.

    Good Product
The most important rating for supplements is how effective they are – and for what condition. This however, takes time, weeks or even months, to evaluate. And, this can be subjective. I can’t rate effectiveness yet.I take a LOT of supplements, for 40 years, and I’ve extensively researched them regarding the claimed benefits of their active ingredients. I suggest you do the same. I always keep in mind who gains financially for their claim (either pro or con) and/or litigation avoidance posturing – as an indicator of objectivity. And, I research the NON-active ingredients to see if any are “controversial”. A common reason for NON-active ingredients is they “help” the MANUFACTURING process. ALL ingredients I’ve EVER seen listed on supplement labels are GRAS – Generally Regarded as Safe – by the US-FDA.But some doctors and researchers don’t always agree. That seems important to me. I evaluate the entire ingredients list, for these Amazon reviews. I avoid controversial ingredients on principle, provided I can find a similar produce without them. Usually I can. Also, it is possible for supplements to interact with pharmaceuticals. That could be important, pay attention. I don’t take any pharmaceuticals, so I don’t comment on interactions. It is common knowledge that fiber is good for you. This product includes two uncommon type of fiber: 1) acacia fiber, which google indicates has pre-biotic (feeds pro-biotics) characteristic. And, 2) konjac root (fiber) for which Medical News Today cites 6 benefits. And it has Bacillus Coagulans, a common probiotic (good gut bacteria). The dose on the label is for the combination of the tree active ingredients. The probiotic is specified as 2 Billion, which is a good dose, But like most (not all) probiotics, this count is when the pill is made – how much went into the pill. Since this is a living thing, some die before being consumed. I’ve never seen any studies of how long they live. The dose at time of consumption is unknown. Some refrigerated probiotics quote potency at time of consumption. The ratio of the other 2 ingredients is not known, could be 50/50, could be 99/1, or anything in between. The flavors are organic – nice. These contain no non-active ingredients considered to be controversial.

Taste great, but low in fiber.
This product has some good qualities and some bad qualities. The good is thay the flavor is great and the calorie count is low. The bad is that it only contains 14 percent of recommended daily fiber. Also, when mixed with water it sinks to the bottom and forms a jelly like blob on the bottom of your cup. Overall it’s a healthy product with additional vitamins. I’d like to see more fiber and a better mixing formula. Thanks.
