Excellent product & company although these are in vegetarian caps
My son has been using this product on the advice of his doctor for ongoing detoxing. It has been very helpful in reducing his fatique and difficulty concentrating. Since he is allergic to corn, I purchased this product thinking that it was not in vegetarian caps. However, it turns out that it is only made in veg caps that are from a non-corn source. I was very impressed with how the company worked with me to determine the source of the caps. This is really helpful for those with allergies.

A quality supplement, with a few questions
Allergy Research Group Milk Thistle Plus Supplement – Liver Health Support, Milk Thistle, Dandelion, Detox, Cleanse, Vegetarian Capsules – 120 CountI got this supplement because liver detox is of ongoing importance to me and milk thistle is a very helpful supplement for liver detox.I like that the company says that it uses the purest raw materials and enacts strict quality control. They claim also that the product is good for even the most chemically sensitive, and that they produce clean supplements with higher standards than most in the industry. In addition if you go to the company’s website, you can get a monograph for all of the herbs in this supplement. These are all wonderful things. However, nowhere on the website or the Amazon listing was I able to find evidence of third-party testing or certification by an independent & trusted industry group. This is important information for supplements. Otherwise, we are just taking the company by their word without any proof. Thus, my recommendation would be to contact the company to get this information.My sense of this supplement for my own usage is that it does feel like a quality supplement. When I open it up, I can smell the herbs. I feel a difference in my body in a positive way when taking it and muscle testing was also very positive.I really like that the product lists all of the herbs that are contained within it, and gives you the amounts in milligrams. This is really important because you want to control dosage of herbs that you’re taking. It is possible to take too much.In addition, I would comment that while this is not a cheap supplement, I tend to expect to pay a little more for quality supplements. However, the herbs used are not organic, so that gives me pause around the claim by the company that their ingredients are of the highest purity.One final comment: I would recommend discussing with your doctor supplements that you are taking. A good quality functional, integrative, or even environmental MD or naturopath can help you to assess quality as well as make sure that the herbs and supplements you are taking are going to be good for you. I may wish to continue taking the supplement after the bottle I received runs out, but I will check in with my doctor since it contains a few herbs in addition to the milk thistle. My concern is that some people may need milk thistle for liver detox, but may or may not need the other herbs, such as dandelion, which is more helpful for kidney support. Fortunately, dandelion is a very gentle herb, but I am less familiar with the additional aryuvedic herb.Overall, I would recommend the supplement, with the caveat that discerning consumers may wish to contact the company for due diligence on third-party testing and certifications. Keep in mind that there is no requirement for supplement companies to meet any quality control standards by the FDA. The FDA only steps in after the fact if there are problems.

More impressed than I thought I would be
Supplements help close the gap between modern nutrition levels in our food, and the levels that were there when I was young. But, in my opinion, the supplement industry has both some of the highest integrity companies, and some of the lowest. So I try and give a detailed enough review to help get to know the company and the product better, to help you determine for yourself if you want to try this one out or not.This bottle comes entirely encased in plastic. It comes about 80% full, which isn’t bad nowadays.The directions say to take one capsule 2-3 times per day, in which case it will last 2-4 months.The expiration date on mine is Dec 2025, so about 1.5 years from now.The capsules have a slightly herbal scent and taste, and are easy to swallow with water.I like my supplement bottles to say organic, non-GMO, GMP-certified, 3rd-party tested, and Made in USA. This says none of those. I don’t find the information on the product page or website, either.I look into the supplement companies I use because I’ve come across so many questionable ones. The product page says they have been in business since 1979, and that healthcare practitioners around the world use them. Their allergyresearchgroup site is functional and informative. It does clarify that they believe in transparency, but instead of just saying that (like many others also do) they say you can contact their customer service team with questions on sourcing, ingredients, and more. They include their phone number on the bottle as well as on the website.I seem to take longer than most to see results when starting a new supplement, but I like the ingredients, I like that they don’t include the common fillers that many companies say they need to use, but the manufacturers of the highest quality supplements I know about refuse to, and if you spread it across 2-4 months the price isn’t as high as it appears at first glance.
