    The essentials and the value
TLDR: great value for the price. Hits all the essentials and is efficiently sized. To give context of the type of athlete I am: I strength train consistently, bench 220lbs and squat 275 lbs at 181 lbs. Ultimately, I would consider myself a intermediate weight lifter who trains to be fit and look good.Due to COVID and elevated chances of getting it at a gym, I decided to invest into a home gym; with a Power Rack as my first purchase. My objective was to buy a Power Rack that will be safe to lift moderate to above moderate weight. And of course, I was looking for a product with the best value. I also did not have the option to bolt down a rack or bolt a rack to a studded wall, since it was going to be in an unfinished basement.I researched all of the top brands and read/watched many online reviews (shout out to Cooper at Garage Gym Reviews!). Pretty quick, it became clear that there were two options: go with a top brands like Rogue or go with a budget-friendly brand, many of which can be found on Amazon. The top brands come with a high price tag but you get what you pay for: sturdy and consistently build equipment with great customer service and warranties to back it up. One hiccup in the process was not many items are in stock due to the low supply in the industry. I was turned on to the FR 810xlt from a YouTube review, which concluded that this product has all the essentials needed in a Power Rack for about a quarter of the price of the top brands. I also liked the attachment options – I ended adding four plate storage pins, the dip bars, and landmine attachment. I nearly bought the lat pull down attachment too but found an alternative pulley system that took up less space and was removable (I highly recommend that too – they’re about $50; in contast to the $200+ listed on Amazon for the FR lat pull down attachment).Pros:- It is sturdy… enough. There is a very slight wobble but it’s nothing to be concerned about if you are under the max weight cap. This slight wobble is expected since the rack isn’t bolted in.-The space in the power rack is perfectly sized for one person. Any less space would be too tight to comfortably lift. Any more would take up space for other equipment in your workout area. Perfectly sized for my needs.-The paint quality and finish is not cheap. I have already done my fair share of aggressive barbell reracks and would have thought by now some of the paint would’ve chipped off. I’m happy to report the rack looks fantastic still.-The Price. When I bought this rack a month back, with was ~$250 without the attachments. That’s incredible for the level of quality and costistency offered by this Power Rack. Even if the rack has increased in price due to lack of supply, this is still worth the price point.Cons:-The holes are not numbered. This honestly is not a big deal to me. I’m going to by some magnets to label which holes I use for each exercise.-The rack didn’t come with wrenches for configuration. I ended up having to buy a socket set, which I should’ve had in the first place.-The Packaging is very heavy. Fair warning… You will want someone else with you to carry it. Say sorry to the UPS guy too.-The assembly process was difficult for one person. There’s a lot of bolting and socketing. That was a work out on it’s own. It probably took twice as long for me to set it up since i did it myself. I recommend having someone help you, if possible. The manufacturer recommends that as well.-The pull up bar handles are a little slick. I wish the were knurled or had some texture for a better grip. If that’s a concern for you, you can buy pull up grips on Amazon.-The pin holes are only on two sides of the upright (front and back). Fitness Reality probably did this for the structural integrity reasons. It would be nice to have holes on all for sides. It would allow for so many more attachment options. In conclusion, this rack is one of the best values on the market. I was very close to purchasing a Rouge Monster Lite rack but I decided to take a chance on this rack. I’m very glad I did. I have a feeling this rack is going to be with me for a very long time.

    Sturdy and Easy to Assemble
This came so well packaged – I was impressed. Everything I need to put this together was in the box, clearly marked. I put this together by myself until it came to attach the pull bar to the second frame at which point my husband had to help me. Took about an hour and a half to do the whole thing and the instructions were very clear. The equipment is sturdy. I don’t have any instability at all. It sits on stall mats which are laid across a concrete floor. The cage is lightweight enough that I was able to move it by myself to its final spot after it was all put together. You will need an alignment punch to attach the cross bars at the back of the rack. They’re inexpensive and indispensable. (Don’t use a wooden or plastic stick – it will snap!) Once all the screws are tightened, you will have a solid piece of equipment that should last for many years.

excellent bang for buck, just buy it and thank me later
This is a great budget rack! I was pleasantly surprised with the build quality, and the sturdiness of it. being able to bench and squat with safety bars is nice when you workout alone. It has improved the functionality of my home gym substantially. If you haven’t watched the reviews online, you should. this rack has been torture tested by several big name channels, and it passed every one. if you are contemplating buying it, i encourage you to buy it. You will not be sorry. Some of the things i like about it are; provides added safety, integrated pull up bars, sturdiness, and the ability to use attachments from other racks with 1 inch holes. The only thing I don’t like are the J cups that are not really J cups. They hold the bar well enough, but I plan on upgrading soon.

Good enough for a home gym
This was purchased in March 2023, so I’m not sure how much has changed since earlier reviews. The box was delivered with minor exterior damage (expected based on the weight), but the contents were all individually wrapped, and cushioned with foam and cardboard, and the box was reinforced with a few thin wooden squares; no damage. The instructions were easy to follow, showed exactly where stickers/decals should end up, and each post had an “up” arrow sticker. I took note of other reviewers having trouble squatting in the cage because of the top brace. Costco sells the same cage but without the top bracket. I built this with the brace, then removed it to see if there was any difference in stability. There was no difference, so I left the top brace off. It would definitely interfere with squats or spotting my kids when they bench press. I also took heed of the shoddy/dangerous j-hooks mentioned in other reviews, so I bought Yes4All j-hooks and plate holders at the time of the purchase. The advantage of this cage over similar products is that it has standard 2×2 posts and 1-inch holes. Attachment options are almost limitless. I would give this product a 5-star rating except it would not represent the overall quality and stability of the cage. You get what you pay for. The kids are going into their senior year, and it will just be me left alone with the home gym after next year. I could not justify paying $5K plus for a cage. This will get the job done for a lot less. I will update the reviews after a few months of use. Both my son and daughter compete in Olympic weightlifting in high school, so the garage gym equipment will be put to the test.July UPDATE: So glad I saved money on the squat rack. It really only holds the bar between exercises. I think if someone wanted to attach pullies or use the rack as a platform for other equipment, it might need to be a more stable and expensive rack. The kids have learned to use the safety bars for their feet to extend pullup workouts and to switch grips. The smooth pullup bars provide no grip whatsoever, so I wrapped them in sports tape (hockey stick tape would work as well). The other reason the cheaper rack is sufficient is the kids use the home-built lifting platform as much as the rack, so we’re getting good use out of the rubber weights. I also bought a rubber barbell boot instead of a bolt-on landmine for the rack. The rubber boot doesn’t scratch the bar and it sticks like super glue to the textured horse stall mats on the lifting platform. Everything is holding up great.

Not much to say about this cage that hasn’t already been said. The good:-It’s cheap, sturdy enough, easy to assemble, well designed, and most 2×2 squat rack accessories will work in it.-I’m 6’4″ and have room to spare overhead, as well as no issue getting the J-cups to my height for squats.-Fit and finish are beyond what you’d expect for that price point (350CAD) since the price has stabilized to something normal. I can’t even DIY one for that much with current steel prices.-Safeties are solid steel rods, and GarageGymReviews on youtube has proven that they will save your bacon at weights the mere mortal isn’t likely to attempt.-Packaging is on point. The outer box seems to have been manhandled, but the inside of the box was reinforced and everything nicely padded and individually wrapped, with reinforcement on the packaging in key areas.-Shipping was ahead of scheduleThe not-so-good:-The rack is a little narrow for me to bench press in, and could use a slightly wider base.-Being flat footed design, you need a flat floor. Most basement concrete floors are not quite flat enought and will require some attention otherwise the rack may be a little tippy.-There is no way from factory to bolt the rack to the floor, though if you have a drill you could modify it.-The included cups are shoddy, and you’re better off buying a set from a different company altogether. It’s not a Rogue rack, or even a Titan. But it’s affordable, uses standard 2×2 accessories, and most of all, it’s safe.

I’m a tall guy and can’t squat inside the cage and with pull ups have to hold legs up or back, it’s sturdy enough even though the whole cage does wobble a bit. For £400 it’s a bit expensive but it’s needed and it does do the job for a good home workout, I will add that the pull up bar is very smooth and not much grip on there, if you leave outside it will rust pretty quick just FYI. Easy to assemble about an hour with 2 people. For bench my hands go wider then the width of the frame which is a little inconvenient but overall I’m happy with the product and it does exactly what I need it to so I would recommend.

I bought this 1 year ago and I’m happy with it. Assembly is always time-consuming for me and this was no exception (basically took up my whole day, I guess I’m slower than average); that said, the instructions were reasonable to figure out. I had to youtube a guide once or twice but it wasn’t that bad.The intervals of spacing you can use for the safety bars are… OK. Personally, I find that for benching, there’s a lower setting which is JUST a bit too low, but using the higher hole doesn’t let me get full range of motion. I use the lower setting in case of emergency, but I try not to rely on it at all if I can avoid it. I guess this wouldn’t be an issue if you can adjust your bench height. The shorter silver pins that you can use to hold your barbells are fine. I was a little confused at first but I kind of dig their design now (you slide in the pins, then spin the whole pin to lock it in place). Perfectly usable.Never used the Pull-up / Chin-up bars at the top of the cage since I have a separate T-stand for that and I don’t like pushing my bench out of the cage just to do pull-ups. I only tried it for testing purposes and it works fine.Stability: I’m happy with it. I don’t bench much, usually like 135 lbs at most. Whenever I’m re-racking the bar I usually “push” it back into the cage with force, thereby shaking the cage. It visibly moves when I do this, but I’m never worried that the cage will topple or anything bad – I can tell it’s fine despite how careless I’m being with my bar. So that’s nice.Probably the best draw of the cage is that it’s cost efficient. I’m happy with the price to performance ratio (not that I really have anything to compare to since it’s my first power cage). If I could go back in time and my past self asked me if I should get this cage, I’d say “yeah go ahead”.
