Yan Hu Suo (Corydalis ambigua) is a tuberous early flowering plant in the Papaveraceae family. The leaves are fern-like, twice or thrice-complex. Corollas are violet-blue, 16–20 mm long, wide or narrower. Inflorescences are racemose or single flowers on long peduncles. The upper petal has a pronounced spur, in which nectar accumulates. Nectar is accessible only to insects with a long proboscis (for example, bumblebees). Other Yan Hu Suo pollinators are male mosquitoes and female flies. The fruit is a dry capsule-shaped box. Yan Hu Suo blooms in May and June.

Excelent quality and brand, wonderful herb. Helps with nerve pain. Causes slight drowsiness in sensitive people, I use it more at night. Relaxing and helps with pain. HawaiiPharm is a brand I trust, I buy all my herbals from them. Liquids are easier than capsules for the body to process, less strain on the liver.

Hawaii Pharm corydalis
I’m not too impressed with this company’s version of corydalis or Yan Hu Suo Alcohol-FREE Liquid Extract.Hawaii Parm is sickening sweet. Not sure why. I take this for pain. I went back to a high alcohol version, Best Botanicals Corydalis Root Extract 1 oz., which is way too strong with alcohol, but prefer it over Herb Pharm’s version.
