    Difficult Choice, Happy with Decision
I had a really hard time deciding between this and the Fenix Solar. I’ve had the Fenix 5S for years and it was a great watch. I never thought much about the screen and it looked great in all conditions. I’m also a dork who wears my Apple watch on my other wrist. So, I already have a watch with a bright, high-pixel screen. The Fenix solar would probably be great right? Well, I watched and read so many reviews. After concluding that the solar ring doesn’t add all that much battery life and I already know that my room is much too bright at night for sleeping, I couldn’t deny how pretty the topo and weather maps looked on the Epix screen. Finally, after deciding which one I was going to get, I had to spend a lot of time deciding on the size. I have small wrists, 5.5 inches. I really wanted the 47mm. I already had the 42mm Fenix 5S and knew it was exactly the width of my wrist, but I thought how much bigger is the 47mm? It sounds like a lot, but maybe it’s not so drastic. Then, I saw way too many pics of the 47mm on men’s wrists that were bigger than mine, and the Reddit comments were savage. I reluctantly ordered the 42mm thinking I might fomo on the 47. The happy news is I’m loving it. It feels like a huge upgrade from the Fenix 5S, I had no idea how much has improved in just the last few years. I love the screen it’s beautiful. I love the morning wake-up screen so much. The flashlight is awesome. All of the features and settings, I could go on all day, but there are plenty of videos out there already. Also, I would like to add that I received this watch super fast (same-day) and the box looked great. Gotta run 🙂

    Best Watch on the Market
Let’s be honest, you can never go wrong with Garmin. Their watches outclasses every other brand while providing the user with a butt-load of options and customizability. Whilst deciding between which Garmin watch to purchase, I stumbled upon the epix Pro (Gen 2) in an attempt to find a good watch for tracking sport activity and daily health monitors. And after my purchase, I can gladly say I do not regret it.The watch perfectly fits my wrist (I have tiny wrists compared to others) and provides me with more than enough data for every single activity I do. Not only that, but all of the data is free with their app, unlike Fitbit and other watches. Furthermore, Garmin’s community opens up a vast array of programs as many people enjoy contributing to Garmin by producing apps/features that can be downloaded for free. The one disadvantage, like most watches however, is the heart rate monitor. If you are recording an activity, the heart rate monitor won’t be the most accurate due to the constant displacement of the arm during an activity. However, throughout the day and sleep, it is accurate enough not to worry about. Thus, if you are buying this specifically for heart rate monitoring, I recommend purchasing a heart rate strap instead.Overall, very happy with this product! Can’t go wrong with Garmin!

    Great fitness and outdoor watch
This watch is awesome. I was originally just looking for a fitness tracking watch that could broadcast my heartrate to my Peloton bike – which, by the way, this does indeed broadcast my HR to the bike. Once I realized Garmin made watches with these fitness features and GPS maps (that don’t require connection to a phone or cellular plan), I found the Epix Pro Gen 2. I’m really impressed with the fitness tracking features and the HR monitor seems to be accurate. The screen color is really nice too, especially compared to the Fenix 7 Pro. Battery life is also great. While operating the watch is not as intuitive as some other smart watches, once you’ve taken some time to learn it isn’t an issue. All around, I’m very happy with this watch.

    Pricey but good
I didn’t notice any functionality being significantly different from Epix Gen 2 I had for a year but it was a little big for me at 47 mm. I do like 42 mm size and titanium.

    Great smart watch
A lot better quality then my old venu. I love the new features that it comes with such as the flashlight comes in handy more then I originally thought. It is definitely heavier but The quality of the material used is way better. Glad I chose the Epix pro gen 2.

    one word: “awesome”
there is no comparison: this garmin epix watch has it all and does it all. its a great all around health and fitness watch. if you are used to apple, it takes some time getting used to the menu organization on a garmin watch. but you can not beat the power longevity on this watch compared to others. and it is SOOOOO much better in tracking health and performance stats. Just awesome

    Overpriced.
Sad packaging and unboxing. Ok and good looking watch, if you just want to tell the time you got to clear notifications or confirm you are no longer sleeping. When the watch goes to low power mode, most controls are lost. Battery last a couple days and charges fast

The watch itself is fine. However when you pay the best part of $1,000. For a watch you expect more. The box was cardboard and the watch holder is cheap cardboard. The strap…. The strap on the 42mm is awful. It’s like made for children it is tiny. So not only did I have the privilege of spending $1,000 on this watch I now have to find a longer strap which will cost another $50!!If I could return it I would. If you are thinking about buying this, may be think again. I would certainly say it is NOT worth the money!

At CAD$999 this watch is a great value. You get most of the modern Garmin features (flashlight, Elevate 5 HR sensor) without the Fenix 8 price. The 42mm is perfect for my wrist. Highly recommended.

I really thought the flash light was a bit of a gimmick – likely the most used feature now. I found the tracking extremely accurate and expected from Garmin. myself being smaller in stature, the 42mm option of a smartwatch really allowed me to be comfortable wearing it without it looking hilariously outta place and it feeling bulky. I am impressed with comfort, fit ,design and what it provides from a sports orientated fitness tracker. Garmin connect took some getting used to, however, found it overall useful and helpful
