I can’t eat a lot of salt, so cannot use the sodium vitamin C, which is so cheap and plentiful.Without the buffering action of calcium, vitamin C soon makes hokes in my stomach lining—ouch! I got this for my gums!
As I recall, this product has mostly ascorbic acid which is buffered with calcium. But check the information! Many of us have sub-clinical scurvy and that is why I am concerned about my gums. They seem to be receding at the very best, and I probably have gingivitis at the worst right now. So if you put some of this product on your teeth I am thinking that it is supposed to get the buffered vitamin C on the gums that can particularly need it.And then you can just leave it there a while… Maybe 10 or 15 minutes if you can hold it in your mouth that long. And then you can just swallow it and get mostly vitamin C with less calcium.Humans, unlike most animals do not make vitamin C! But never put straight ascorbic acid on your teeth or you could really ruin your enamel! I feel much safer with this buffered kind!

Bought this to help gum tissue heal – seems to be helping
I’m only a consumer, no health training at all.My dentist had said I’d need to have grafts done over both canines in the near future as at some point the gums will be back so far the tooth will be at risk of being lost. I asked if the graft would also recede since I hadn’t been able to get myself to stop (using a guard and everything) and he said yes, the graft would also continue to recede if I continue bruxing. I thought it was silly to do this while I’m still working on changing habits.I read on a number of sites (alternative/natural health) that putting calcium ascorbate on your gums three times a day (and spitting it out) would help with improving gum health, and that this type of vitamin c is less damaging to enamel). It has only been just over 1 week. I already see what looks like improvement over one of my canine teeth. Both sides looked similar, and now my gums over all look pinker and healthier, and over one canine, they look thicker, and they’re a bit lower on the tooth (just enough to notice), and the other side is showing a darker pink line of tissue lower down on the tooth than it had been, which I hope is where it’s trying to grow back, but we’ll see. Again, I’m just trying this but I’m shocked it does look like it’s helping already.The explanation I read for why it supposedly helps is that tissues need vitamin C to build collagen well, and it’s depleted in gum tissues quicker than the body can replace it in people who have the habit of grinding their teeth all the time.

Good for Vitamin C flush
I like to give myself a Vitamin C flush once a week. Vitamin C Flushes, for those who don’t know is where you take mega doses (about 1,000 to 5,000 mg) of Vitamin C every 15 minutes until your body becomes saturated (you can tell it has become saturated when you produces watery diarrhea and at THAT point you stop). Depending on what condition my body is in; this is anywhere from 25,000 to 60,000 mg average for me. In other words; the healthier you are…the less Vitamin C you need to reach flush level and the sicker you are; the MORE it takes to reach flush level (for example; it takes anywhere from 100,000 to 300,000 mg on average for cancer patients to reach flush level.This let’s one know what level of Vitamin C is needed currently. For example, if my flush level was 50,000 mg, then I would take 40,000 to 45,000 mg of Vitamin C daily for the week (which would be right BELOW flush level), . After 7 days I would do another Vitamin C flush to see what the optimum level would be for the week following that and so on.The Vitamin C I use is Calcium Absorbic which helps my Vitamin C needs WITHOUT gastrointestinal issues.

Hallelujah, this is our new source of vitamin C
I was prescribed vitamin C by my holistic doctor for my thyroid and leaky guy issues. After researching a lot of vitamin C’s out there, we settled on this brand as it came highly recommended and trustworthy. After a week of taking this, I saw improvement in both my gut and thyroid function. Unfortunately we ran out of this as our family caught a nasty cold. Once we received bag #2 in the mail, we upped our dosage of vit C and bounced back within a day.I mix it with about a quarter cup of lemon juice in a large mug. I add baobab powder, L-glutamine (for my leaky gut), and a dash of stevia. I fill the rest of the mug with water and ice. OH DANG, it’s delicious. Like, I crave this drink all day.One time I didn’t have lemon juice so I mixed the vit C with almond milk thinking, “hey, it’ll taste like an orange-julius, right? (I get pretty daring at night). EW, don’t do it. Just mix it with lemon juice and stevia if nothing else! My husband prefers it in his smoothies, that’s the best way to sneak it to the kids anyhow. :)Anyhow, we are customers for life now.

Where’s the COA?
I purchased this for a friend who was experiencing great benefits from vitamin C, but was having difficulty tolerating ascorbic acid, as the acidity aggravated his peptic ulcer. So I bought him a kilo of this calcium ascorbate, which arrived promptly and intact, and he is very satisfied with it. I would add another star if Bulk Supplements would include an informative Certificate of Analysis (COA), so the consumer wouldn’t have to guess what amounts of various impurities, etc. it might contain. I could pay $150 or so to do my own analysis, but this seems to be a service more reasonably and economically provided by the vendor. Especially for larger quantities, it is not unreasonable to expect it to be offered or provided as a matter of course. To not offer it leaves the consumer with little choice but to assume that the product was purchased by Bulk Supplements for resale from the lowest cost (and possibly lowest quality) supplier in China or elsewhere.
