Increases energy.
This is the best Ginseng that I have found.

Seems to do what it says
I don’t have my own testing lab, of course, but I bought this on the strength of some Consumer Labs testing showing that it’s one of the brands known to contain the advertised active ingredient–quite a lot of it, in fact. …and some of the other brands tested had bonus lead added to the supplement. I hadn’t realized that was an option…

Quality product
Paradise Herbs has a good reputation as a quality brand, so I was confident in getting ginseng from them for my husband. The 200mg daily dosage per capsule list on the bottle is pretty much standard for ginseng. What I especially like about these capsules is that they do not include any filler ingredients such as cellulose (wood powder) or rice powder. There are a few extra extracts added to the mix, but they are clearly stated on the bottle, so I’m fine with that. My husband is taking one capsule per day but may increase that to two per day depending on how things go. So far, no adverse side effects, and that’s a good thing. The only negative is that the price point is rather high for ginseng, but then again, Paradise Herbs is reputable, so that is the price for going with a trusted company.

Not too bad.
Let me start by saying I think the cognitive benefits of ginseng are oversold. It’s a stimulant, so like coffee, green tea, or anything else containing caffeine (or, heck, certain B vitamins, which this claims to have but doesn’t list — ingredients are listed but nutritional values are not), you’ll get a boost, which can help you think clearer than you would if you were exhausted, but it’s improving alertness rather than cognition. But I digress. This does a decent job of boosting alertness better than those little bottles of ginseng you find in every bodega and corner shop in the tri-state area (IYKYK), because it’s a more even release with no jitters. I have other stuff onhand that I can get much the same effect from (yerba mate FTW), but these are a bit more convenient since you can just take one and get back to your day.

Mild cognitive improvement?
I too got this particular brand of Ginseng based on Consumer Lab’s recommendation from 2011.Does it work? Maybe. I have noticed some cognitive improvement, but on the other hand, I’m an entrepreneur, with an intrinsically hectic schedule, so it’s not easy at all to compare one day to another.I’m ordering another bottle, and if the cognition tests at Quantified Mind won’t take too long, I’ll have an opportunity to more objectively asses its effectiveness. But then again, my amount of sleep varies by necessity, and that’s a big factor influencing cognition. So don’t stay very tuned.BTW, Cochrane published a report on Gingseng’s cognitive enhancement capabilities: they’re unconvincing to mild.
